Want to buy a gen 6

Hi I have a 2012 camaro ss with 35k miles on it. It is worth around 22k right now selling privately and I would like to buy a gen 6 that is under 27k. The question is should I look into buying one now (closer to 30k), or wait until gen 6 with a little higher mileage on them start showing up in the used car market (still under warranty)...I also have about 1500 dollar worth of maintenance I need to do to my current camaro and wonder if it's worth doing it. Thanks

There should be plenty of 1SS trim levels on the market used for under 27k... heck you can ALMOST find that brand new... If you want one fully loaded though, that will be alot harder...infact you will be hard pressed to find a fully loaded 2SS for 30 as well, it will still be around 33k - 36k for the most part.

Just wondering why does your 35k mile SS need $1,500 worth of maintenance? Any warranty left on it?

Brake pads (going to have someone do it)
tires
battery
oil change

Also I didn't see even 1ss for that price. I am looking for manual, preferably gray in color.

I would say a little over 1k, maybe 1200

Here is an example of the market in the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois area.

August 21 2017,

Traded a 2010 1SS with 3k miles for 19k. I checked with sever different dealers and 19k was the highest offering, 17k being the lowest.

I purchased a 2016 1SS with 900miles for 32k, which was the lowest price in a 500 mile sweep of my area.

2 SS were going for 36-38k used with under 10k miles.

The market has cars out there right now if you are patient and diligent to look. Scan Auto Trader and / or Cars Guru and throw a net out about 100 to 150 miles from your zip code. I just traded a 2016 RS 2lt for a used 2016 2SS for $33,500 with 2000 miles on it. I got a very fair price form my trade versus what I had into it and moved up. But it’s all about timing. If you see one you have to move quickly. I live in Michigan and drove 2 hrs to Indiana to pick it up.

I traded my 2011 2SS for a 2017 2LT RS. My SS was in just OK shape- it had 42K on it and some small door dings and was in 2 minor prior accidents from previous owners but mechanically excellent and it had brand new tires. I got 17K for it for a trade in- a little less than I wanted but it did have 2 accidents. They also discounted the 2017 from almost 39K to 34K. A fair deal I believe.

It is actually more difficult to find lower priced 1SS manuals vs autos, there are a lot more autos for sale out there than manuals, the ratio I saw was like 4:1 autos vs manuals when I would filter down searches to manual only. Probably correlates to the amount of autos GM is manufacturing/selling new.
