Engine Misfires

I'm playing around with my aeroforce interceptor gauge and set it to monitor each cylinder for misfires. While cruising i noticed i was getting misfires at random. No consistency to when it happened or which cylinder. Other things to note are I there was no indication of a misfire in the way the car was driving or the way it sound and no codes are being set for misfires even though the scanner is showing many. What gives?

First of all, how many is 'many'? If it's a single digit number, I wouldn't even think twice about it as it's well within the margin of error. GM knows that the crank position sensor will report very very slight variances in crank speed. You usually need to be in the low triple digits on the counter before you'll trip a CEL for misfires, and once you're at that point, you'll really feel it. As long as you're not feeling anything and no CEL is present, proceed as normal.
