PDR video - Stock A10 ZL1 1/4 run

My very first run down the strip.
11.92@122.9 - Using Launch Control

https://youtu.be/RMUl2ZNgmbY

My only other run was a 11.83@123.5, but forgot to hit record.
DA ~2500

I love seeing PDR videos. The higher gears only drops to 5500 rpm after the shift which is good, but I am surprised how much the lower gears are short shifted in the A10.

I haven't run mine through the 1/4 yet, but I'd be happy with that!

I was told the reasoning behind that was because the RPMs come up so fast in the lower gears that if it didn't short shift you would bounce off the Rev limiter.
Sounds plausible.

I can confirm that in 1st, if you don't shift below 6k manually even, you will most likely bounce off the limiter, car will cut power, and you will be slower.

Looks like you had traction control still on. Think it hurt ur time if it in fact was. I saw the light come on.

Yeah, left the nannies on. It was my first time at the track with this car. Wasn't brave enough to turn everything off, before I even made the first car payment.

What settings did you choose in Launch Control? Somewhere I read (or was told) you could use Launch Control in Sport or Track Mode. I have only been able to configure it in Track Mode. I have tried Surface Settings of Dry, Sport 1, & Sport 2. I have tried Launch RPMs of 1600, 1700, & 1800. I have tried Slip from 8.0 to 10. Unfortunately I didn't keep records of the combinations and their results (was having way too much fun).

Very strong. My slightly modded 2SS runs 12.2 at 114 in those conditions and 11.8 in a good DA at 118. Just shows how fast the ZL1 is at 122/123 MPH in the heat. You'll crack 128/129 with a good DA and run mid 11's at least.

I used Track mode and Dry for both runs. I get consistent 3.7 0-60mph on the street with those settings, but only managed a 3.9 at the track. Go figure.
I just wanted to see what could be had by using LC. I won't be using it in the future.
Everyone running sub 11.5 times are not using launch control.

I've yet to try launch control at the track, but I think you could get it to work decent if played with enough. I'd recommend setting it to race if you use LC again. There's less computer interference and more power available in Race according to the manual and my road testing.
