ZL1 A10 Question

Got my ZL1 last wednesday, I just did a 200 mile trip last night, so far I love this thing, GM did an amazing job.

My question, is there a way for the car to be in drive and also display what gear you are in instead of just 'D' I've messed around with the info screens and can't find it.

Thanks

You can simply move gear knob over to manual...take a look & knock it back into auto. That is what I did & was always in a way higher gear than expected when I first started checking.

Yeah, I know that trick, I really would like it to display what gear you're in at all times, doesn't seem like it would be very difficult.

I guess their logic is that if its in D, you don't really need to know what gear it's in. But i agree, I'd like to see it just for the cool-factor

well, it appears they didn't give it to us amigo...irked me at first but once I found the trick to check & confirm I kinda got over it for the regular stuff.

Would be kinda neat to see what it drops to on the pedal tap trick, but guess my eyes should be on the road & not what gear I'm in...it is what it is.

Exactly! I bought an automatic specifically cause I don't want to worry about stupid gears. Shifting and numbers...pfftttt.

If you leave the car in manual mode and shift it yourself it will show you the gears as you shift. Zl1 shouldn't be different than the regular SS there.

Chevy dropped the ball on some of the displays in this car, in my opinion. That's really my only gripe with my car. My Hellcat had all the information you could ever want to monitor readily available and configurable in just about any way you'd want to see it in the instrument cluster. It also could display what gear you were in in D. Oh well, first world problems, I guess.
