Backup Camera Accuracy?

Has anyone noticed the backup camera on their Camaro seems to be off by about 4-6 inches from the red box? I feel like when I park in a spot backwards I have to have the drivers side red box a couple of inches over the white line to actually be within the parking lines? It's almost as if the lines on the display need to be moved to the right 4 inches and then it would be perfect.

Thoughts? Comments?

Never bothered to notice. But, as long as I don't hit any objects I am good

I have a very tight single car garage, like so tight the mirrors are 1-2 inches from hitting on either side of the entrance. My backup camera is perfect in getting in it's no problem. I would say it's an issue if you're off 6 inches from what the screen shows.

Mine is a little wide on the passenger side of the car. I have a 2-car garage, but shelves lining both sides. My wife pulls in on the right side, all the way to the right. In order to give us both room to open our driver's side doors, I park backwards, on the left. I have to back in, and put the car within 3" of the shelving - every time.

I ended up putting my car where I wanted it, then put a long line of blue masking tape on the garage floor. That way, I just line up the lines on the camera with the tape.

But, I've noticed that the lines on the tape (which corresponds with my tires) don't match up to the lines in the camera. I can put the camera lines a couple inches over (to the outside of the tape) and still not hit anything. I think the lines are purposefully a little wide, so that you have a couple inches of error.

Yes I agree I noticed the lines are a little wide on the drivers side. Maybe I am just not seeing the passenger side correctly since the mirror shows a smaller image. I think I'm going to have a friend put tape down on the lines and see if the lines are off or if its my perception. I asked just to see if anyone else had an issue. I am now starting to think it is just me and not really a problem with the backup cam.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

We have 3 vehicles with backup cameras, Rav4, Accord, and Camaro. Camaro has by far the best back up camera.

It sounds like something that should be calibrated through dealer diagnostic software.
