Bradenton last night

Good news, a personal best for me. Bad news, I could have run so much faster.

I'll post a pic of the time slip for the record in the correct thread above, but thought I'd share my experience here.

11.91 @ 117 with a 1.9 60' time. I have hit 1.7 60' times with the stock tires, so I was hoping for a 11.6. The DA was about 700 when I ran, but it got below zero later on.

There were too many cars, and too many breakdowns. I got in three runs over four hours due to those messes. One highly modded Civic actually had his hood fly open and shatter his windshield all over the track and his GoPro that had been attached to the roof.

My last two runs were 12.7 and 12.4 at 117 with 2.3 60' times. Way too much wheel spin.

I left at idle the first two runs. Tire pressures were 28. A slow burn out was done to heat them. The last run, another CA6 A8 owner (didn't bring his car) said he had run 11.8 at 117 stock and recommended a 1000 RPM launch. Didn't work out for me... LOL. I just went sideways for the first 300' on my way to a 12.4.

My mods are in my signature. The best I had done prior at this track was 11.99 at 114 on a similar night. So I have really picked up quite a bit. I don't know what percentage of E85 other than >51 from a pump at Racetrac.

Overall I am pleased that my car has become so responsive with so little done to it. It is a very capable 11 second car and much faster than any GM RWD car I've owned. A younger guy with a black CA5 was talking to me and offered jokingly to race for pinks. I asked how his car ran and he stated low 13's. I showed my timeslip and his jaw dropped. He had no idea that my car was that much different than his and assumed I had the LS3.

I saw your slip posted in the other thread, it looks like an 11.6x pass with a tire. Did you sell your DR's ?

You made a solid pass with your 11.9 on stock rubber, it's definitely a different era when we can see 11 second runs and think eh...that's not bad.

It would have cost you some coin to run that number just 2 years ago.

Thank you. I don't go often enough to warrant the DR'S. Sold them locally to a guy with a CA5. He was there last night as well hoping to break into the 12s.

Appreciate it. My tuner will let me borrow his DRs if I get a chance to run in late March. He feels I'm leaving 6 tenths out there and could get a solid 11.4 or 11.3.

Yeah I dont even go to the track anymore without throwing the drag radials on lol. Its kind of pointless because with the power these cars make, even at a stock level all i did was spin. So with even more power, you'll definitely need drag radials for a decent pass.

Great advice for all who own cars with high HP. I don't plan on running the car on the track more than 3 times a year, so if I can borrow them I will. I can't see the expense of having them and storing them as a good thing for me personally. I had a set with a taller profile and sold them to make room in my garage.
