I have been reading this forum for quite some time now. I had held off on joining, since I don't own a Camaro. But after today that will change! More on that in a second.

First off, I have gathered more information than I thought could ever be common knowledge by reading this site. Thanks to all that have contributed to this site thus far and a huge shout out to Becky Doyle! Thank you!!!! The information she posts to this site is so extremely invaluable!

So, how did I get here. It's been a bit of a ride for me. It started in early December. I spoke with my local(preferred) dealer and found out that they would not be receiving an allocation for a 2017 ZL1. I spoke with the owner/salesman about finding an allocation. We discussed my options, he made phone calls, gave me names of other dealers to get in touch with, and so on. So I set out on the painful quest of trying to find a dealer with an allocation. After getting so many BS explanations, no returned phone calls, and my favorite after asking the direct question "I would like to purchase a 2017 ZL1 Camaro, Do you have an allocation?" Almost all responses "Well I don't know if we have one but we can get you one." LOL! So I had, had it with all the dealers in a 100 mile radius that wouldn't give me a straight answer. I said heck with it I will have to go out of state so I called Becky, (since I have read nothing but great things about her) only to find out I was too late to the party with her and she was already committed with her allocations. So I returned back to my local and prefer to deal with dealer for some work on my daily driver. After a BS session with one of the salesman, he told me "Just place the order with us and see what happens." Well that's exactly what I did with very little expectation that the order would get picked up. Which meant I would have to wait to see if it would get picked up at the end of the last DOSP for the 17 model year or hope that I could find one on a lot the way I wanted it this spring or summer and not deal with the dreaded Mark Up. I know that's a little long winded, if your still reading this lol! But I got the phone call today my order was accepted! Don't know how or why don't really care haha. But I soon will have one of these awesome machines parked in my garage! It's been a dream of mine to own a Camaro since I was a little one hanging around my family's dealership that lost the franchise in the restructuring in 2009. Thankfully I am still dealing with a dealership that treats their customers like family! I'm looking forward to the journey of the building process, then taking possession, and then driving this amazing car! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about everyone's experiences and seeing everyone's awesome rides. Thanks for reading.
