Diff and Transmission
Greetings,
As like with Many others out here on the forum, the diff on my car was making rubbing noises since past 2-3 months, also the transmission wasn't feeling smooth enough and was making annoying "click" sounds after 20+ miles of continuous driving, I took my car to the dealer but they are saying that they don't see any issue with the car at all after keeping the car for 3 days straight, should I visit a different dealer at this point or call GM? appreciate your input.... Thanks....

I would do both. You should not worry about the diff noise. I waited until the fall (almost 10,000 miles) before bringing mine in for repair/replacement. I also had to go to an alternative dealer to get my job done. As far as the transmission, I have no experience. Good luck, be persistent

Mine got progressively worse. After the flush and anti friction additive it still persisted. Dealership replaced the differential. Got the car back yesterday and no noise at this point

Im switching dealerships as well. Chiming in again to say I would have never bought this car if I knew how awful dealerships were to work with.

Potential first time GM owner. Are you guys saying all Chevy dealerships are bad? From what I have been reading I'm starting to get nervous about their service departments.

I would avoid the car myself, if I were you. If you must have it, I would wait until this is sorted out before the build of your car |

That's crazy. Thanks for the advice and sorry you're having a bad experience. I definitely don't want to go through the same.

The service dept At my dealer is great. They are modification friendly, do loaners, rentals and will even pick me up at my house. I get lifetime free insp and 3 oil changes.
Sales is even better. I think it has a lot to do with the size of the dealer. Seems like the larger more volume dealers are better.

I have used the same dealer for many years. When we moved 40 mins away I still drive down to that dealer because they fix an issue the first time and don't create new issues (screw up) when in for service. There is a dealer very close to our new location but I won't go there. They have always been fair and is also mod friendly. I have tried to buy a car from them on several occasions but they will not make a good deal. So service yes sales no. The dealers name is Wallace Chevrolet. Wallace has several dealerships and we take our MKX to the Lincoln dealership for service as well.

Had to test drive along with the technician to make them agree of the diff noise today, they asked me to come back next week as the technician who is suppose to look into the issue wasn't in (at least thats what they claimed)...Now the technician who test drove with me does not think that the noise is coming from the differential, he is saying that its some sort of vibration (Which I don't to agree) that they need to look into....
The Worst part is the dealership has driven my car 15 miles in total....to me that is way too much to test a car for Diff/transmission issues...any thoughts? Thanks....

When the tech takes a vehicle out to test they often times will need to get the system in question up to operating temperature. In the case of a transmission or differential that will take some miles for sure. 15 miles is appropriate imho.
