Questions Regarding Ordering a SS in April

Hey there,

I'm planning on ordering the Camaro above in April, just have a few questions before I solidify my choice.

1. Auto or Manual - not concerned about what's more convenient or "fun" to drive but what option holds the most power M6 or A8?

2. I was quoted $520 a month at one dealer for that car and yes I have good credit with 2k down on a lease... Good, Bad, Average?

3. What do you love about your Gen 6, I currently have a Gen 5...Thanks.

Have a amazing and safe 2017!

If your leasing go M6. Lower cost. THe A8 is better for resale....

To answer you question about A8 or manual the A8 will give you a faster 1/4 mile times.

Thanks for the responses but not looking for resale or quarter mile, but what transmission can hold the most horsepower.

I understand manual would need a clutch upgrade, short throw shifter etc... for better performance eventually and the Auto should get an upgraded torque converter and tune...

Just out the dealer which can handle the most HP im thinking the auto right??

More power is lost through automatic transmissions, that's just physics. Not all that much but there is still a loss. And it already has a short throw shifter, great clutch, etc.

I think by April you might be ordering a 2018. I think that's when the MY switch was from 16 to 17.

Nomat- Whats your goal ? Are you going to mod the camaro? Lease cars have to be turned in stock....

I'm buying it out after the lease is over, its just allows me to keep more money on my side for the next couple of years as I start new business... and with my current financial plan alone ill be able to pay off the rest of the loan at the end of the lease.

and yes mods will be done....

Sounds high- I lease and pay 500 dollars a month for a 1SS M6 with NPP. I put zero down on the lease.

The Tremec 6060 manual trans is rated for 600 lb ft of torque. The 8l90 8 speed auto is rated for 635lb ft or torque or 738 lb ft of gearbox torque.

If you plan to mod and own the car for longer than 3-4 years then it is better to buy it than lease it, unless you can expense the lease as a business expense.

In fact, you would better off to buy a slightly used one and save a bunch and use the money for your mods.
