If you're on a budget. Stick with the stock intake. It's fine. Get a drop in filter for it.

But that won't add much power or cooler air will it?

a drop in filter will reduce air resistance and does create a difference when dyno'd.

Air temp wont be affected since that really requires some kind of insulation or a new air snorkel location.

I would be surprised if you didn't notice better throttle response with that CAI. Extra HP I would assume a small increase. Just like anything in life - you get what you pay for.

K yea I just watched a video on your tube where a guy dyno tuned with a k and n fikter and gained 5hp. Not bad for $60. Thanks guys!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/252448308302 That one right?

5hp is enough to be considered noise in my opinion. You could gain or lose more power than that depending on the days temperature or humidity. Not worth it for the money to me. Back in the early to mid 2000s some intakes that increased air volume and were tuned to account for the extra air with more fuel do create more power but if all you're doing is replacing the the factory air tube with one of the same size, you're not going to see anything worth noting, and nothing that you would feel.

ANY CAI is a WASTE of Money UNLESS you are going to drive around at FULL THROTTLE (on the street???} MAY be good for a FEW HP on the track, BUT for the STREET, SAVE your money!!!!! Think of it this way, How far open is your Throttle Body in NORMAL driving? Maybe 1/4 open? Don't You think a STOCK Filter system will Flow that much air? and THAT air will be CLEAN AIR!!! A CAI with a FREE FLOWING filter WILL let in MORE DIRTY AIR.PERIOD!!! NOW, With that said, If you are going to TRACK the car, Then YES, They will give You a FEW extra HP, The trade-off is Engine wear, NONE of My Cars came Cheap and I want them to last as lone as possible!!! I'll stay with what GM put on it!!!

I had actually heard different. The high flowing k and n filters have oil on the filamanet which actually catches more dust/dirt than the regular paper filter.
