2016 Camaro V6: Your Feedback
New on this forum, but not new to Camaros, and have a few questions from some of you who are more experienced in the newer models.
I test drove a 2016 V6 yesterday and liked it alot. So, thinking about buying one. I would like to know about your experience as an owner, would you recommend it to your friends or family? I mean is there any issues that's popular among the users that would be a deal breaker? The car is not cheap, specially the Convertible that I am looking at. So it would be nice to get some feedbacks from you guys. Jack |

I have searched for a convertible V6 2016, or 17 that doesnt have a wing and cant find any.
Any of you know if you can have a convertible with no wing? |

I got a base v6 and a great deal on it. I'd love a V8, but this one has more than enough power to keep me happy. My wife always gives me nasty looks when I step on it and she's in the car with me, so I don't think an SS would help me in situations like that. I've had mine for a month and a half already and I'm happy with it.

Jing, I didnt feel much diff. between the v6 and v8, power wise, when I test drove them yesterday.
Actually, the V6 is about 250 lbs lighter, if I remember right, and I felt it was more nimble on the road and more responsive. |

Anyone knows what package that wing is a part of? Or do you get it by random?

We love our V6 RS 2LT A8 convertible. Asf ar as the wing goes, the AM/FM antenna is in the wing for the convertible. It's part of the RS or 2LT package. I believe with a couple you get the lip spoiler.

I only tried the ss with the automatic transmission and I loved the exhaust. After I picked up mine I didn't try to find a manual ss to test out. The V6 can move though and I'm not complaining about its power. I think it'll keep me happy for a long time.

I got a 2LT RS V6 convertible. In general I am pretty happy with the V6. So far I did not drive a V8 and cannot compare the cars. Driving wise the car feels really great. Another pro is you don't need to use the premium gas. If I could I would change the grill. Unfortunately there are not many choices available for the V6 in comparison to the V8 model.

I personally would be happy with any engine choice.

I have a V6 1LT coupe and it has enough power to get yourself in trouble if you push it. Also the V6 is great as my primary vehicle. Great gas mileage and 87 regular grade at the pump.
I was given a loaner 1LT convertible when I had to take my coupe back for about two weeks. My understanding is the wing comes standard on ANY convertible model. The loaner I had did not have the RS trim, only option on it was the black wheels, but it had the spoiler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a 2016 2Lt/ Rs and I have to say that it's a nice nimble and fast car. I have driven it about 2500 miles( 1000 highway and 1500 on some twisty back roads in Virginia and North Carolina). Fuel economy is great and it has a lot of technical features in the motor that help with power delivery and handling. For a v6 it has plenty get up and go. From stand still it will spin the tires and when going into turns it goes where you point it. I owned a 2015 prior and I wouldn't have recommended that car to family or friends but the Gen6 is a car that I would recommend to anyone. The car is a little pricey but if you want a v6 then it's worth it. I shelled out around $37 for a nicely loaded metallic blue velvet with leather and I have no regrets. The SS will be my next car when I finally end up back in Florida, for now this v6 is addicting and adequate for weekend fun.

If money is no issue, get the V8! It is more upfront, but over 5-6 years you will make your money back on the better resale price.
That being said, I absolutely love my V6. Lots of power, more than enough to get your heart racing and tires squealing. Every once in a while I get V8 envy, but I am by no means dissatisfied with my car. |

How does the exhaust sound on the V6?
