Am I asking too much?

I can get supplier/student discount.

Is it too much to ask to get an OTD price of under $45k on a Hyper Blue 2SS with A8, NSSP, and either Nav or Sunroof going with the 0% for 72 finance offer?

Seems like the discount price on something like this is $43xxx. My state only has 3% tax on new vehicles. I've spoken to 3 dealerships and they wouldn't really give me the time of day for some reason. One spent hours trying to get me into one with a $49,000+ MSRP despite me telling them essentially 43xxx+TTL is my limit. I told them I was willing to buy yesterday if we hit that. They said they found a car they could do a dealer swap for and then proceeded to focus on their borderline $50k new stock.

Am I doing something wrong or....?

I want a Camaro, but cross shopping these with a similarly equipped Mustang GT Premium with the performance package that I can already get OTD in the high $30k area when dealers keep trying to give me prices coming damn close to the $50k range is tough.

I have contacted out of state dealers about cars with Hyper Blue+ A8+ NSSP+ Nav and while their internet price was listed at $43k, as soon as I told them I wanted 0% for 72, their OTD price wound up being $49k. What is the deal? I'm willing to fly somewhere and pick something up and even the out of state dealers aren't giving me the time of day.

What would be a fair price to offer for something like this?

I think the issue you're running into is the dealership won't be making enough money off your purchase. With the supplier discount and 0% APR, I just don't know if it's possible to combine both. As stupid as that is, I think that might be the issue. Either way, contact Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet in Michigan. If you want a good deal, she should be able to help.

She's a member on this forum and is very active in this community providing insight and selling Camaros.

Hmm, well I feel dumb if that is the case cause I have been feeling like I was being taken for a ride.

I just thought discount price+TTL was a decent enough deal for both parties to be happy.

I'm just taking an educated guess, someone that knows the industry better than me should chime in. Best of luck!

I found mine using cargurus.com. It was listed for 43 and some change with adrenaline red, npp, nav, mrc, and auto. Contacted dealers here in Vegas and none of them could match that price with those options. Ended up driving to Arizona and made the purchase there. I was already approved through GM financial prior to that incentive being announced last week.

If that price is what is listed, they should honor that regardless of what incentives are being offered. I couldn't use my military (retired) or USAA discount because the price was already below supplier pricing. From my understanding private offers are the only thing that can not be used with the incentive. Didn't have one anyways...

Good luck!

Getting this one for 46.5k OTD.

Little bit more than I wanted to spend and I do wish that wheel package was something a bit cooler for the money like MRC or something, but overall I am happy.

Did I do ok?

Did you already buy it? I would make sure it has MRC. From what I have read on here it is one of the more important features to get from the get go. Can't really hit aftermarket up for MRC.

Either way enjoy the car. Anything over 3k off MSRP is a good deal.

I wouldn't worry too much about MRC, it's all personal preference. It's not like the Camaro rides like a wagon without it. Lol

I didn't want to deal with replacing the components when they wear out eventually. Also some users have had issues with their MRC system malfunctioning limiting their cars to go no faster than 80mph.

So for the price it wasn't worth it to me personally.

I liked how it drove without MRC fine. Course I haven't driven one with MRC so I don't have anything else for reference. All I have to compare it to are my Mustangs with stick axles out back.

Seems ok. So it was about $44-45k before NM taxes? Any trade in?

By the way, with that expensive wheel option you are supposed to get the original wheels as well. I am also a bit surprised that a dealer loaded up a car like that and didn't add MRC. MRC is typically found on the higher 2SS trims. The MRC tech is pretty cool but if you never had it before it obviously won't matter. Best of luck.
