Talking MBRP Exhaust

MBRP sent us this video to let us know they are hard at work on their 6th Gen.

They are hard at work with their 2016 Camaro SS!! They have a Axle-back and Cat-back system in the works. They plan to offer 2 different sounding muffler systems, Race Series and Street Series.

Check out what they got going!!

Talked to them yesterday. About an hour away from me.
5-6 weeks out. No timeline on the street series.
Only 'Race' Series available to order. Axle back and cat - back.
Aluminum - T409 or Black coated.

Axle backs are way to loud. Race Cat- back sound pretty good.
That 'Street Performer' Series Sounds Awesome.....but no word on when it will show up.

I can order it....but do I want to wait 6 weeks for something that does not sound 'perfect'

My pet peeve with these guys is their CDN pricing. I can buy from a U.S dealer...have it shipped to me...pay taxes and it will be cheaper than buying locally. Hooray for a CDN Company screwing it's own.

Great sound! I was shocked as to how "tinny" the stock exhaust sounded by comparison. Well done! I would own this if reasonable down here in the states.

Yes. Very reasonable....dirt cheap actually.
Around $5 bills for the axle backs and $650-$800 for the Cat backs.
These are non valved systems

It looks like this is made of aluminum. Pardon my lack of knowledge on this, but what are the cons of adding a aluminum exhaust? I would think that bolting it up to any stock parts may cause corrosion between the dissimilar metals. Does anyone have any experience with this? Aren't most aftermarket made from SS for this reason? I really am considering buying one of these systems and I appreciate any help from the members of this forum.

It comes in both aluminised and 409 stainless steel. The AL won't last long in Florida

That's what I figured. Will definitely order SS if I get this.

Ricardo, I'm looking at the mbrp race cat back and see that it is a quad tip design (which is fine as I plan on swapping out to the npp rear anyway) but I see in the install instructions they have "actuator brackets". Are these for the npp valves or are they for the afm valves?

Nice job of putting the exhaust on Tour mode for the stock comparison.

If they're going to compare the video, put the exhaust on sport/track. If I'm wrong then I'll eat my words but I start my car almost everyday on sport so I think I know how my stock NPP sounds like.

Going by the picture a few posts above, there is no muffler and the system eliminates the NPP function and just has a mounting plate for where the NPP valves used to be. Lame if that's the case. Corsa did the same and eliminated NPP. Lame

Say what? all those AL boats are just corroding away lol.

That's almost as funny as the guy who wants NPP on a "race" exhaust.
