Grinding noise on cold start
I bought my 2015 Camaro 1LT/RS about a year ago from now. During the winter I would use the remote start to warm up my car for about 3 min while I finished getting ready. Since the weather is nice out, I no longer use the remote start. Now when I start my car, after about 30 seconds of it being on, there is a weird vibration that slowly turns into a grinding noise. I was able to capture the sound on video:
I've searched the forums and I've seen threads on a grinding issue but no one has posted to what is causing the problem. Please, if you know anything let me know. Thanks. |

Based on the video, it sounds like a vibrating heat shield, which is no biggie. Does it stop after a while?

Were you ever able to figure out what it was

I would bet a large amount of money that it’s one (or both) of the heat shields on the downpipes. If you think yours is bad, you should hear mine. LOL. Really though, don’t worry about it. Just get under there and tighten them up whenever you find the time.
