Intake port polish.
Took off the intake today to possibly do a port polish but mostly to have a look. These things are actually half decent. They have some pretty good edges and bumps from the molding but not as bad as my ls2 intake. I don't like that the pcv has a tube that goes right across the middle of the opening but that's to carry any oil blow by to the bottom of the intake so it doesn't blow right into that first runner. Doing port and polish now I'll keep you guys updated!

There is definitely some room for improvement, not a whole lot but still there is room! I have no idea what mine picked up for power but I could care less. I can definitely tell and feel the smoothness of air flow through it which was my goal

How in the world can you tell and feel that?

It's quite obvious actually but it is hard to tell from pictures. Once you actually take a look at it and start swiping your fingers through it you can tell the smoothness and once you compare that to OEM, it's obvious and when you toss it on the car, under load you can definitely feel it really easily actually. Just like you feel an aftermarket tune vs stock.

Hard to explain, but I do agree with Tr6, both from installing on my C7, and his SS.

Had to modify the Cai lid a little bit to get it to fit. Just had to remove a little of the trim and grind the very tip down to fit against that metal bracket

There will be a bit of a whistle, shouldn't be too bad. You should only hear the whistle under load and windows down.
Having to modify the CAI is a bit disappointing lol. At least it's a really easy fix though. |

YES! When I took off the intake and heads where covered in oil really bad. I mean like way beyond what they should have with a "stock" catch can. Absolutely recommend the Mishimoto. Yes its a bit more expensive but the parts are the best I have seen on the market. Plus the fit and finish is perfect. No screwing around.
