Find New Roads: Photos at Gillette Stadium 10/24

Went down to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts this afternoon to check out the new Camaro's.

Pretty nice cars. Talked to one of the interiot design guys for awhile and he started up the silver SS and ran me through the lighting package and HUD, radio etc.

I am 6'2, fit inside pretty well, so it looks like I am sold.

Here's a nice 1967 RS SS that was in the lot.

Thanks kcgesq for taking the time to upload all the great photos, they are a real help in choosing a colour as they give a good indication of what to expect outdoors in cloudy conditions.

That first shot of the Hyper Blue is a knockout, it looks stunning under cloudy skies. I wonder how it would look with gunmetal or black wheels - probably not as good. Blue seems to be a hard colour for finding a good wheel colour match.

Excellent photo's. Nice to see shots from a DSLR to get a true feel for accurate colors.

That blue is absolutely striking.

We just got back, I've got about 50+ shots I'm uploading at the moment, and I'll put them in an Imgur album.

I tried to get some more detail shots of the things like the sunroof on the silver ice 2SS, and air vents, some of the center infotainment screen.

Wife loved the dark blue w/ white rally stripes, the black w/ red accents. I really like the summit white LT they had. We both really liked the yellow, it's WAY WAY nicer in person than on the web. With black rims and black rally stripes, that's number 2 on our list now. (Summit white still no. 1 for us).

My pleasure, man.

Had no plans today, and I live 20 minutes from the Stadium. Had to check the cars out up close. The cars all look nice, the seats felt good. I am a big guy, 6'2, 260, so it is a little awkward gettting in but easier that a C7, and once I was in, I felt fine. The interior design guy spent about 25 minutes with me answering questions and it was time well spent.

Oh, I also got some video of the "show mode" of the 2SS interior LED strips on the door running through their color change. It was an over cast day so they show ok, at night, or a dark environment, I'm sure they'd look much brighter. Still neat.

Stay tuned.

Any questions ask away.

I really like the sunroof, and if we don't get a vert for whatever reason, we'll definitely get the sunroof.

The clutch-brake-go pedal placement seems pretty good for heel-toe fun times. I'm a size 10.5 and seemed like it would work fine.

Clutch also felt a lot lighter than I was expecting, of course the car was off, so this may change? Really liked it, wife did too. We actually started talking about getting the manual.

Shifter didn't feel notchy, or vague. Felt pretty nice. Centered nicely, good feel in the hand. The auto shift stick was a little taller than I liked, but not as bad as the pics make it seem

Seats, both in 1SS and 2SS felt very good. Fit me fine, and I'm a chubby ass, 5'10" 250lbs.

View out, not nearly bad as I remember from test driving a 5th gen many years ago. I got the seat where I wanted it, adjusted all the mirrors, and I don't think I'd dislike driving it.

I'll update more as I think of it.

Oh, and yeah I did wear my Ford Racing hat

I snapped a pic of all the VINs, too. Because why not?!

I didn't get an exterior shot of the Hyper Blue SS, just some interior shots of the black/white leather. In person I *really* liked this combo with the blue exterior. Seats looked great, the leather felt as nice as the stuff in my Infiniti M37x.

The Silver Ice SS had the ash grey leather, it looks pretty nice with that combo. Wife didn't like it. A few sunroof shots too.

Most of the pics are self explanatory. Screen shots of the infotainment, I played with the vent, showing max deflection in a few different directions.

We both loves the black SS with the red accents, but I'll never buy another black car, such a pain in the arse to keep clean, but that one did look amazing.

Wife's fave was the dark blue with white rally stripes. I was torn between white and yellow, and her second fav was the yellow. Sharp color w/ black accents.

Album here. Click on pics to get the full size.

The only guys I met were Gillette Stadium employees / help. I asked everyone I saw if they were GM / Chevy guys and not one said yes, or knew where they were at. I was kind of bummed about that.
