Disclaimer: I know nothing about the specifics of the ZL1/ZLE electronics / systems.
Not even taking driving dynamics into consideration at all, I have to assume if you just unplugged the magride shocks on the ZL1 it's going to freak out the cars systems. Triggering diagnostic codes and maybe even a limp mode. So just that alone leads me to believe there must be different software running on some of the systems on the ZLE. |

Tricking the computer isn't really a solution I'm interested in for this use case.
Maybe it works fine, but the amount of time and effort I would need to put in to validate that and be "trust it with my life" comfortable is not something I want to have to do. |

Just ordered my 2024 Panther ZL1!!!
I started with a 98 Z28, then ordered a 2010 2SS, 2012 ZL1, 2017 ZL1, 2018 ZL1 1LE, then I veered off and ordered a 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Today I ordered a 2024 Panther ZL1. The last had powdered Camaro. Wish me luck bros and brosettes!!

There are a couple of bumps in the road from an underground pipe or something by my house and I can feel the car bounce more in Tour, slightly bounce in Sport and the car is very stiff in Track. Going 35 mph as well. Anyone, with a non 1LE ZL1, can do the same as you can find a spot that'll make both tires roll over the bump in the road at the same time. I even left the car in my street driving mode one track session, suspension in tour, steering in tour and exhaust in track. The car had more "dip" when you brake and had more roll when turning. Obviously I felt the difference and didn't realize I wasn't in PTM until the cool down back into the pits. If you track your car, put the suspension into tour one session then track the next. I 100% guarantee you'll feel the difference. |

I think he was asking if the DSSV respond the same when placed on a magride equipped car. I have a ZLE and the various modes, tour, track, sport, do nothing for the suspension for the DSSV. They have one setting from the factory and changing the modes does nothing for the suspension. |

The question is are a ZLE's systems ( stability control, ABS, etc ) programmed or calibrated differently than a ZL1.
The main focus of that discussion has shifted to the DSSV suspension, but there are other differences. |

You, sir, are living the dream!! How did you manage to get in on the CE ZL1’s? Those seemed to be all spoken for before anybody (that I know, at least) was able to even get an order in!

What is the purpose of the selectable modes in the ZLE, considering there is only one setting for the dampers? Steering weight and exhaust sound?

And yes, I will agree that those that change out the MRS for DSSV in a non 1LE then the suspension setting will do nothing at all since its just connected to a pigtail. Only adjustment you can make on the 1LE DDSV is the fronts ride height and that's manually done. |

The suspension settings in the ZL1 1LEs menu is there but it changes the shift points and ediff? That doesn't sound right, that should be the mode selector on the console's job.....but ok.

No one is changing out their ZLE suspension for the more "pedestrian" ZL1 Magnaride set up.
Anyone who actually changes out their ZL1 Magnaride suspension to a ZLE suspension should have just checked the "extreme track pack" box when ordering. That's an expensive oversight...and its still not a ZLE, just a modded, still less capable, ZL1 with no suspension/ electronics warranty. Carry on....

I'm sure a ZL1 with only the aero, DSSVs 19" wheels and 3R tires would be just as equally capable as a ZL1 1LE. More expensive route to go than just selecting the 1LE option. |
