oh ya - so, I use the sole of my foot on the clutch pedal, no part of the foot which resting against the floor which is the same way I brake, although I do that with the other foot. Maybe it's just a technique thing you could experiment with changing.

Id just get rid of it if you arent happy. 6000 miles is plenty to know if you like the car. Id get rid of my 1le if i had to daily drive it. Its fun but the visibility and other things would drive me crazy. Plus i wear big ole steel toes boots to work and its a pain to drive

I know that once I figured that out, I pretty much had the engagement point down. Almost as if it was part of me.

First, ignore all the A-holes. I give you credit for admitting your concerns to the forum.

Try a different mental approach to driving your car.

Look at your manual tranny as a direct link between you and the car. Without that personal connection with the clutch and the shifter and your expertise with both, the car can't go anywhere.

It's you and the Camaro M6 working together to attain performance on your favorite road.

You're in control. That's the beauty of a manual transmission.

Give it a shot. The mind is a powerful thing.

OP, I suggest taking the car out when there is less traffic like Saturday or Sunday mornings. Early, but not super early. lol
Also I would suggest a flat soled sneaker, something like an ADIDAS sneaker or something similar that is flat on the bottom. Flat on the botto where you don't have to worry about the soles of the sneaker getting caught or hinged on the clutch or brake/gas pedals.

Not sure why someone would take offense to that. No I did not. I can drive it fine but it is stressful.

That's a very congested area where you commute, stop and go for miles I assume during rush hour, no manual is going to be fun there! Good luck with your choice.

I get bored in an auto, I need the constant interaction to keep me engaged in driving. For a long time, too long, my job required an auto, I found myself literally reading a book while driving one day and immediately decided I needed to find another job and get a stick. It sucks to admit, but I am an unsafe driver in an auto.

Not trying to be an ass with this suggestion but, smoke a bowl and hit the back roads and learn to relax with your M6. I promise, once you get used to it, you'll never want to drive an auto again.

This is the exact reason I changed my mind about the M6 and went with the A8 instead. With the commute I have, even only taking the Camaro to work maybe 2-3 times a week I didn't want to not enjoy driving it back and fourth from Howell to Ridgefield Park (70 Miles one way) Especially with the crappy traffic that can occur going either way.

This Monday was the first time I drove it to work and I was so happy with my decision to go with the A8. I hit traffic and didn't need to be stressed over any thing other than the traffic. Although sitting in traffic in a Gen 6 Camaro, makes it a little easier

I wouldn't trade it unless you don't take a huge hit and can get something comparable. Which will be tough. I say try as much as you can to make the best of the M6. Giving up one of these cars would be very difficult imo.

I dunno - I have commuted around Silicon Valley in manual cars for 25 years with no issue. It's all in how you approach it - I am so used to driving in commute traffic in a manual that I feel strange and apprehensive doing it in an AT car. Not kidding! I normally let the car creep along in 1st or 2nd without using gas or letting it roll for a bit with the clutch in. I have zero apprehension about doing anything in traffic - in fact I feel more in control of the car than I do in an AT car in the same scenario. Just comes down to seat time. for me we are talking 100's of K's of miles!

I do not own a M6, when i first started my shopping for a camaro i was 100% sold on M6 but i have never owned a manual car and it was stressing me right out... I can drive standard and drove my dads C7 with the M7 and found ti stressful. No doubt i would have learned it and been no issue but i in the end chose the A8 for my daily commuter and only car so i get where your coming from. Do what makes you happy, but if a 10k loos is to steep maybe buy a cheap 3-4k car and just beat the hell out of it.

Seams cheaper that way?

I think this right here will be huge for you. There isn't much travel on the gas and brake pedals so you can leave your heel on the floor, but the second I start to push in the clutch pedal my whole foot is off the floor until I've completely released the pedal again. Even if I'm sitting at a light waiting for it to turn green, the whole foot is off the floor even if only the ball of the foot is in contact with the pedal.
