It's not hate on my part, it's just that I don't enjoy cars that break down or rust early.

FWIW the 2020s are on dealer lots.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the LT1 6M! Less is more IDK why the chevy website does not have the 2020 details posted up yet... |

Who knows the top end of each of the 2020 camaro drivetrains/models? In reverse, I mean. That is a top criterion for me, check out my old tv show, you will see why.
If you can calculate the answer based on drivetrain config & gearing, you are a car enthusiast or certified ASE technician or engineer or ought to consider becoming one of those things. If you can demonstrate the answer on a video car-cast, you can make a successful car-cast video review with a zillion subscribers on youtube and buy a Bugatti for cash. Here is what I know and it makes me laugh. If I put my 89 TTA back to stock I would embarrass all current Camaros minus the ZL1 if we are talking top speed only. |

The TTA had a gearing-limited 162mph top speed from stock, the current SS is limited to 165mph electronically.

That's a lie buddy, quite a large one. It went into the 170s on the straights at Indy so try again :-) A barn door GN would do nearly 160 with the rev limiter lifted..... I might have to eat crow after all, found some more top speed testing in the upper 170s for the LT1 powered cars. Figured with the barn door front end aero it wouldn't make it. Either way. I will still have one. |

The convertible is limited to 155 (for a 2017). Someone posted a video a few years ago where they hit 182 on the Autobahn in a coupe.

Sorry but you are talking absolutely bs. The Camaro SS runs stock 290 km/h which is 180 mp/h. I tested it myself on german Autobahn. But you feel that this is still an electronic limit and the car would be capable of even higher speeds.

The drag coefficient for the 3.8 TTA is .32. So this isn't a huge gap, and .35 is hardly a barn door. Car and Driver tested the TTA at 162MPH, which is below the speed limiter of the 6th gen SS and well below the 175mph top speed of the SS 1LE. So no, not a single lie... not on my end. It's best to know what you're actually talking about before calling someone a liar, lest you become one yourself! |
