My only point was that Ford is the king where it counts right now, SALES. Until that changes, they will not lose any sleep. And that will not be known for a few months until Camaros are filling dealer lots and the hopeful sales boom begins.
But in order for Joe the buyer to want the car, they need us the fan boy base to buy the car, if we are happy with the cars, then we drive them, we show them, we talk about them, we PR the car for the manufacturer, and in turn the public sees the cars more then any Ad campaign can do.

Thats why they have to make fast models, keeps the market going.

I'd say this is the 1le. And that's not a front "splitter" so to speak... It looks more like an ss with the ground effects package (front only) without the side and rear part... Just like the current 1le. And a taller blade spoiler than on the v6-4t models. I also say this is the car number 2 from the original leaked images... And it definitely sounds like a beast!!

Agree. 100% effort. Nothing held back.

Until they offer MRC and an automatic to make it a comfy ride and sacrifice some potential to draw in additional sales. Not saying it won't be fast, I just want it to remain focused.

And have a series of movies spotlight the car.

I don't care if they do that as long as you have the option to get it without. Seems like you are more concerned with exclusivity.

Exclusivity is a by product of the 1LE focus. The manual only and harsh ride with expensive low tread life rubber doesn't interest the average buyer. And it shouldn't. But make a few compromises and they will be everywhere. See my point now? Keep it as the track rat it always has been.

Not if I work for GM. I would be more than happy to sale more cars with a higher margin.

Maybe I'm missing something here, i'm confused by your statement, you say allow MRC and Auto, then say "Keep it as a track rat...", So i'm lost a bit.

Anyway, why should they turn a 1LE into a touring car? They have the 2SS for that and are offering upgrades like 6piston brakes, and it has the MRC and Auto - seems redundant. Then they have the ZL1, a HIPO car with MRC and Auto (probably), so again, a little redundant to me and makes a 1LE kinda pointless.

I think what we see in this video is a Z28, I think if they do a 1LE it will be a package for an SS, and what I see and hear in this video isn't a "package", it's it's own variant - I'm probably wrong though.

The higher margin will be on the standard models. Base cars as opposed to the Z/28 and ZL1 types. And I doubt GM made much money on the $3500 1LE package given the list of differences over the base SS. Mainly because of the R&D is spread across a smaller number of models sold

That would be the opposite of most business situations. As price increases and volume decreases they tend to add on more margin.

I said no MRC or auto. I do not want that. You must have misread something

Ding ding ding ding - more sales don't guarantee more profit.

If we were GM and we had a choice of two forecasts:
1. sell 1 million cars for profit of $1000 for total profit of 1 Billion
2. sell 500,000 cars for profit of $2000 for total profit of 1 Billion

which should GM choose? IMO they are not both equal - In option 2 i've spent half the effort to get the same result.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Ding ding ding!
Higher margins > happy investors.

My division enjoys some of the highest gross margins in the whole company (~78%), it's great We get new equipment when we need, new hires, etc.
