Oh my car was definitely faster and more powerful than my buddies SS until it heat soaked then you could just watch him pull away and if i kept on it much longer that's when it would go into limp mode.

Me neither! 98 degree days at Sebring and no overhearing or evidence of heat soak. Car is bullet proof. Kevin |

Looks nice! Would be nicer if Callaway got rid of the big ugly chrome lettering and put together a nice sleek badass logo or something to use instead

I run a Mamo Motorsport V2 TB on my SC750 along with a Borla S-Type exhaust. Both mods were on car prior to the SC750 kit being added. I communicated and worked with Callaway in advance on of their work to ensure that the warranty would not be voided with these mods on the car already. They were super helpful and indicated that these two mods would help with their tune. They also indicated that they would need to remove the Rotofab CAI that was on the car, as their tune is designed to work with their CAI only however. The TB, exhaust, and Hurst short throw shifter make the SC750 even better. The car is violent at WOT with Tony Mamo's TB!!

Dad has a Callaway C7 Z06 and they had no issues with the Corsa catback on it. Did you see their C6 Callaway has with over 200k miles on it no issues just regular maintenance.

Have either of you been to the strip to see if they are actually making the power they should? Or had them on a dyno?

Don't listen to these $%#&'s have a custom TB spacer made just like I did to run a 112mm on my 2650. send the blower off to have the snout ported and some work done just before the rotors. You will not run the stock O-ring any more to seal the TB you will run silicone or some type of form a gasket in a tube. Also you will run a big gulp intake. IF there is a restriction this will fix it.
50% of this blower is eforce especially the stands/intake there is a good thread where some good gains where made by moving the sensor to another spot to where that area doesn't heat soak and give false readings.

Is there enough meat on that snout to port much? From videos of these, it seems there isn't a whole lot left on the bone. I have never seen one, so I wouldn't know. From one of the videos I watched, it seemed like if they could've sent it to Kong (for example), they would have, but there just wasn't much left to port. Porting would've been my first thought, too.

Your results may have been different than mine. However I also have a C7 Callaway Z06 and I have had the same results with it as well. |

I could care less what your friend's butt dyno thinks as that tells you exactly nothing. Pulling on cars coming out of turns is also not a good indicator because minimum speeds will be different with different drivers and the first car is accelerating before the second car is on the gas. I am asking for a strict CAR VS CAR comparison, hence why I asked for 1/4 mile (1st) or dyno number (2nd) comparisons. Hell a good old no skill roll race is a better indicator of car vs car power/acceleration than a road course.

My descriptions and POV here are based on experience in advanced HPDE groups running very fast laps at CA tracks, ie Buttonwillow CW13 with drivers ranging 1:50-1:57. Assuming a long enough straight and everyone is a good driver who goes WOT asap, the significantly more powerful cars can/will pass or create a widening big gap, sometimes in a dominant fashion (like a modded ZLE with +200 WHP). But often they will lose that advantage to more skilled drivers in the next turn. If the high power car driver can also turn and brake equally or better, that gap will keep growing. The guy in the 765 LT at Buttonwillow this weekend had such a power and tech advantage over everyone (except the 2 GT2 RSs) that exiting turns from the back of a group he passed every GT3RS, Z06, ZLE, etc with ease. He was not the best driver :-) The 765LT is so advanced and fast it also makes a good driver a hero in turns. On a side note, after 13 track days in my ZLE, the brakes seem to be a secret weapon vs other very capable sports cars. I run Ferodo DS 1.11 pads and Brembo HTC 64 fluid and with this combo I can brake later, often catching lighter cars with more nimble handling. Last edited by SFV1LE; 04-06-2021 at 01:06 PM. |
