Again, I'm not complaining, it's just too easy to see where GM saved a few bucks, and what I'm saying is there certainly are people who would've either paid for a "higher interior quality" option or bought the Camaro instead of something else. Can I prove all this with hard data? No, mostly because this was never even an option, but also this is a forum after all, not the internal chat tool of GM's design or marketing department

This was my 16 2SS in Kalahari. My wife called it a gentleman’s hot-rod. Nightfall Gray paint
This was the 18 2SS Hot Wheels with black suede knee bolsters. This was the Hot Wheels with the OE knee bolsters. I put them back on when I sold it.

I was going off what I saw in the 1SS I test drove in 2017 when I signed for my ZL1. And I guess I misunderstood what arpad was saying.
Again a lot of these complaints are from those with the lower trim Camaros. What they don't realize is that the manufacturers have to make concessions in order for the lower tier cars to remain affordable. Or at least to justify the price. If the LT1 and 1SS both had interiors like the 2SS and ZL1 then that would probably bring the price up to where it would not be worth buying those trim levels. Same with the Base GT. If it had a better interior then it would compete with the price of the Premium or the 401a option package and that will make it out of the price range of most GT buyers as well as making it unappealing since you might as well just upgrade to the Premium at that point. |

I like the feel of Alcantara on the steering wheel. I didn't like the look on the dash. The console required brushing to keep it fresh looking so I prefer the leather ones there.

The 1LE reviews are always 1SS cars and then they complain about the quality of the interior. The 2SS environment is pretty nice IMO.

I had to have the heated wheel and seats. Reynaud's dictates that. But the blind-spot detection is also good. While you can properly adjust your mirrors to see the blind spots, it's still not 100% and it's nice to have those aids (and rear cross traffic) in such a visibility limited car. That does a lot to equalize it with other cars and their better visibility. The other touches are nice. The interior lighting is cool.

Yeah, the plastic knee bolsters are pretty horrible. They come with the 1SS?? Figured those would be the base lowest trim ONLY. 1SS should get leather bolsters at least, sheesh.

I never really paid much attention to this, but looking at the weight chart you attached, it seems the A10 adds an extra ~50 pounds on top of the A8. The manual 1SS has the same weight as the 2018, while the auto 1SS is 50 pounds heavier than its 2018 counterpart, quite interesting.
My 2018 2SS auto has a curb weight of "only" 3697 lbs, so I could probably beat even those nifty new A10 cars, haha. I mean if my car was stock, of course.
