On the track my dad says he can recognize the sound of my car from the whine if he's not watching.

I was actually surprised how loud that whine was. Whoever was filming looked to be a good distance away.

Yeah mine is all stock except for the RotoFab. I'm going to do the Corsa Mid Pipe and Corsa NPP exhaust soon though.

I’d be interested to hear if you blower whine changes like mine did when you swap out the mids.

I questioned Rotofab about this after I installed mine and was told they are aware of the issue on some cars but don't have an answer to it. Someone back then said Rotofab made a change to the hood seal gasket in 2018 but Rotofab said that's not the case.

Yea upon driving today with my windows down you can hear the intake sucking air but it’s a whistle at first, which I guess is the throttle body opening slightly as another member stated above. I thought I had gotten rid of it but I was mistaken. On a positive note though I drove past a line of traffic today and the supercharger echoed off the surrounding vehicles and it was super loud wow. I’d love to have it heard as an outsider looking in haha.

Go to just around the 3:55 minute mark in this vid. The black ZL1 behind the ABM SS is mine and you can hear a fairly pronounced whistle. It's not that prominent inside the cockpit.

I don't think that piece of rubber trim would really change the sound much anyways, its just trying to block hot air from the air box area.
