They will be here on Friday, so looks like next weekend for seat install, can't wait to get them in. Still working on airbag sensor solution as well. Will post up pics of removal, replacement, any issues along the way.

Did get my Rear Seat Delete installed (SkidMark Garage unit) and very happy with it. Took some modification to work around the cage, but came out Great!

More seat pics next weekend!
Like what you did to your car, how is it on the track now?

Since this is somewhat in your lane, do you have any ideas to bypass the airbag warning light when using racing seats?

Thanks Ofer! I'm living in snow hell right now... had eight straight days of snow up until today! First outing with full racing seats, G-Loc pads, and some other things will be late March at Road Atlanta. I'll give you a call on the drive home and let you know how it goes. Can't wait!

Wish we did, i know there was a way to do the drivers seat in the last Gen but have not played with this gen on that.

Ofer/Sean.....I'm working on this right now. If (when!) I get this figured out I'll post it ASAP.

Really want to bypass the seatbelt and airbag sensors. Will keep you posted.

Ok guys.....I got a lot done.....have the seats in....but still have an Airbag light.....

Here is what I did:

Removed factory Recaros
Stripped the factory wiring harnesses from both seats (not that hard, just takes a while, painstaking.....)
Removed the Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor (comes out quite easy from the top side by releasing the seat bottom leather and cushion)
Plugged in two resistors for airbag and seat belt sensors in each seat.
Plugged in the Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor.
Plug in both harnesses (Driver/Passenger)
Installed my new Driven Race Seats with Planted Seat Brackets (unfortunately....they are not "Planted"...I had to modify them to get them secure)

LOVE the seats! Frustrated that after all that work I couldn't defeat the Airbag light! I'm guessing it may be position sensors. Have an appointment to get the code checked to see if that provides more details on what is throwing the code. Will let you know what I find out.

Tons of pics below!

Really impressive work. I'm jealous and hope to copy from you in the future.

Thanks! Really enjoyed doing it.....going to be three more weeks before my first event with the new seats (Road Atlanta).....getting antsy. Climb in the car a couple of times a week and make engine noises....

Do PM me when you get ready to tackle it. Learned a couple of things the hard way. Particularly with the Planted Seat Brackets. I really like the brackets and how solid they are and how well they worked to mount these seats - but they are not engineered well enough in the front slots to eliminate all of the play, so I had to come up with a way to secure the front slots more tightly. Wasn't a big deal once I figured it out.....but don't want anyone else to have to reinvent it.

I'll see if I can get the airbag light defeated with some more work. If I can't I will likely just pull both harnesses back out of the car and dismiss the warning every time I start the car.

Do you want to sell the old seat belts that you removed?

Nope. When I'm done tracking this car someday, I plan to put it all back to OEM.

Well boys.....I couldn't defeat the Airbag Warning Light with all my work on the seat wiring harnesses.

As per my post below....stripped the wiring harness out of both seats, replaced the airbag and seatbelt sensors in both with resistors, pulled the passenger seat occupancy sensor out of the seat and plugged it into the harness, after I had both harnesses installed and the seats in - connected the battery and after I fired up the car.....Airbag warning light came on...

Had the code read at the dealer this week, code is:

B0080-04 Seat Position Sensor Circuit Open

#%@&!

As a result, I'm just going to pull both wiring harnesses out of the car and dismiss the warning every time I fire up the car and ignore the light. Given the cage, the racing seats, the harnesses I don't need the airbags anyway, I was just hoping to defeat the nuisance of the warning message/light.

I'm guessing that there may be a way to also defeat the position sensor, but I am really talented with a wrench and out of my element with more wiring diagrams.

Perhaps we should offer up a reward for the first forum member to figure it out?

Back to final prep for Road Atlanta two weeks from tomorrow!!

^^^ That's exactly why I kept the stock seats on my 5th gen. I wanted a lighter weight, more supportive seat but after pouring through the diagrams and schematics I decided it was too involved for me. The passenger side is the deal breaker.

I sent you a PM. Look back at the thread I posted in (http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...=473795&page=3) to get a hint on where I am going with this.
