Violence will NEVER go away. If you somehow think that it will, you're DELUSIONAL.

Allowing more and more people to be killed because "fighting violence with more violence is a bad idea" is just f***ing rediculous. More people need to be prepared to protect themselves and those around them.

Or defending yourself? It's your responsibility to defend yourself as well not just the governments. Stir the pot some more as you like. No where did he say he was going to commit unsolicited violence like this moron in Orlando and the other in Fort Hood did. It's not always someone else responsibility to take care of YOU, it's YOU first and foremost. That is what this country is based on. Are you aware of The Constitution and Bill of Rights? You have a right to bare arms and defend yourself plain and simple.

Putting more guns on the street in peoples hands who are competent to use them to take out the ones like this guy who has a screw loose and might have killed more if he got the chance is what we are talking about!!! And defending MY right to live and not be gunned down by some freak while I'm behind my desk working !!

I have my concealed carry permit and took the course and have basically handled a gun since the age of 8, I know that if some crazy comes to where I work and I get a chance to save my life and my coworkers life by shooting somebody whether to kill or incapactiate them I won't hesitate and I'll bet there would be somebody ready to give me a medal for doing it!

are you serious? I'm sick of all the sit around the campfire and sing kumbaya!

Our country has turned into a bunch of limp ####$ that are scared to offend someone and the ones who enforce the law have to treat the criminals with more respect and concern than they do the victims

Start holding people accountable and punish them swiftly when the evidence is stacked against them. And we are are rubber necking the scene on every piece of crap news station.

I've lived in Waco my whole life and was a contractor at Hood for years. Civilian concealed carry is worthless on base. The team I worked with took every step to avoid committing a Federal Crime. After the Luby's massacre you would have thought we would have addressed the concealed carry but hell no more laws have been created and they don't seem to have slowed down the bad guys.

Wow... So happy to live in cold Canada right now. I've got nothing but love and admiration for the US, but I still prefer our... calmer... way of life.

I'm in the less guns can only be better camp, as the more people have guns, the more people can blow a fuse with a gun in their hand. Of course, calm and competent people with guns can stop them, but can they do it before damage is done? I know criminals will always find ways to have guns. Its "non-criminals" nutcases with guns that scare me.

I understand the "other camp" as guns are possibly the best way to defend yourself against criminal attacks. And I agree that Law Enforcement should be tougher on criminals. If a police officer tells you stop, you stop. Jump? You jump. Otherwise, he can arrest you with all necessary means. After the smoke has cleared, if you feel he hasn't acted properly, just sue him.

Anyway, my thoughts and condolences to all those that lost a loved one in both shootings...

Phil

What is odd about this is that it as far as the Army is concerned (can't speak for the other services), it is up to each base commander to allow or disallow state concealed carry holders on the installation. It isn't federal law that bans them, it is the base commander's discretion. Most, if asked will state that it is a liability thing (think OER and bad press), bad press if anything does happen involving a licensed carrier...
