i'd save the money on headers theres no real gains there from what ive seen, deleting the cats will give you 10 rwhp or so and the sound if you want more volume. meth is the best bang for buck mod you can do to aid boost

Actually back pressure with these stock manifolds is exactly where my issue is. Fuel has not been a problem for me but back pressure has. Headers are a must for my FI setup.

What Joe said. I'm going to do high flow cats with headers--either ARH or Kooks--not sure yet.

2" headers are for high power applications. You would actually see a drop in boost unless you were hitting close to 1000HP. That's straight from multiple sources/vendors on this forum. Recently discussed in the below link.

I'll be adding an AEM kit soon and running 70/30 water/alky. I've been working with toohighpsi and his makes about 730. He also has the fuel system to handle the hp/torque. He uses it on the street and track. It cools the charge into the intake which has a huge affect on the IAT's which allows you to run a lot more timing. I did the same thing with VP 109 but its very expensive to run and I still drive mine on the street so I'll go back to 93 octane and water injection so I can still run that timing on do on the 109 tune

Joe, your doing the 1 7/8 headers correct? I'm not planning to go to those numbers either.

Yes. I'm about to place my order but looking for the best fit to my stock exhaust. Keeping that for now so my wife doesn't see anymore large purchases so I'm piecemealing it.

i'll be goin to the track saturday but i've recently installed a 4c circle d converter at the same time as doing the header swap so the only way that i'll know that the headers might have potentially helped is if i pick up some mph

I ran Kooks mids on my supercharged g8gt. Made about 12 hp on the dyno but fit the stock hook up on the exhaust.

Glad to know. Thanks. Once I do this with the second cat delete I'll be able to put on the smaller pulley to up the boost and retune.

Joe, I ordered the ARH 1 7/8" long tube headers (long system) WITHOUT cats from Phastek. My shop said to go with no cats for the Whipple. Once they get in, I will set up install and they will also retune--so I'll have numbers to compare.
