Cost break down:

Headers: (coated 600

Sparkplug wires: 80

O2 extensions: 35*

intermediate pipes: 225*

total cost: 940

* My cost was less because I did my own wiring extensions and made my own intermediate pipes. But if you chose not to make your own pipes and harness extension this is the projected cost.

The first pic is how I kept the coolant tank out of the way.
Second pic is how close the wiring harness was to the factory manifold before I moved it.
The third pic shows how I moved the wiring harness out of the way in order to keep it from getting burned.

In the first pic you can see the interference with the factory spark plug wires.

In the last pic you can see that because the header tubes are not flush the flange will not be flush either. But they do seal because of the gasket.

I did kooks and I did not take off either valve cover. Drivers side I did not take off out the sparkplugs, I'm pretty sure neither side has to come out. I have the stock wires tied slightly out of the way. For the kooks and I'm sure the rest the wire harness needs to come of the vapor seperator on the passenger side, as well as a bracket or you spend a whole lot of time for nuting, once the wireharness is movable it was a candy job. IMO I put the kooks in from the bottom. Interesting that these could go in from the top? Good advice to put back the starter before putting any bolts into the header BTW!

do the JBA clamp to the stock 2nd cats? I know there is a brand out there that does.

Thanks made installing the starter much easier. I also did not "have" to take out the sparkplugs. I just prefer to do so as in the past I have hit the ceramic part of the plug causing more issues so now I remove them. I put them in from the top as I was working on jack stands (I should have stated that earlier...oops.) also do you still have the factory spark wires?

No they do not. They come with "starter" V-bands and you can fabricate your own intermediate pipes or you can buy their intermediate pipes.

yep, tied them way from the header, I will later do a fiberglass shield, only one is close on the Kooks 1 and 7/8

I did Not take out both sides spark plugs and got both sides on just fine.

Very good idea to put the starter back in while the headers are held up or just a few threads in so you can push them out of the way.

Thanks for the info. I did headers on my LS1 cars and remember twisting the wires at the coil and using heatshields. Sounds like I can do this header swap and I have access to a lift on Saturdays. Did QTP's on my Z28 at home and that was not too much fun......

Did you reuse the stock header bolts? If so cool. If not what size and thread are they? Also could you link the msd wires you used. are they these? http://www.jegs.com/i/MSD-Ignition/1...lwcaAvXF8P8HAQ
