Correct, right before the bend would be ideal since space is limited up front. The shape can be anything, S, J, etc.. the key is the length.. Also, the closer to the engine yields the best result from what I heard.

I went by the chart below. Mine droned really loud from 1600rpm to 2k rpm.. thus I made it 26" in length

I have the Hooker LTs and exhaust and the drone is not bad at all...during the mid rpms you do get some vibe though...I dunno manliness? Drive a caddy if you dont wanna hear/feel your performance imo

I also have the Hooker Axle back with mufflers. There is definitely drone from 1800 - 2200 rpm which did rattle the interior. Found another thread on this forum that pointed out the two plastic square plugs under the door that rattle like crazy. Mine were loose so I taped them with clear boxing tape. Killed at least 75% of the rattle no kidding I can finally crank up the bass on my radio too. Still have some drone but I think I lost my "Man" card when my wife drove the SS to work and said she really liked the exhaust and it wasn't too loud, lol.

I may still get some J pipes installed but I am getting use to the drone now, or driving around it got the M6.

Any tips to becoming such an awesome man like you?? lol thanks for the awesome reply.

Anyway, when the drone is bad enough to rattle every panel in the car, id say its pretty bad. Everybody who rides with me comments about it. Also, Its not that the exhaust is really that loud... its just the cabin vibration.

SuperSteveSS check your exhaust at the rear hangers when your car is warmed up. I had to add 3 washer behind the each hanger because the exhaust was rubbing. Between that and the 2 square plugs under each door I got rid of most the rattle/vibration. The drone seems more livable now since it no longer rattles the car to death.
