OK, I can't resist this one... A nicely prepped track isn't a fair "stock" comparison to an unprepped track. It has to be on the street to be fair.

Don't forget the following:

Stock tire pressure with 7/32 minimum tread depth, less than three squirts from washer bottle, full tank of specified octane fuel, all accessories in the car including owner's manual in glove box, weather and baro matching that of EPA specified HP test conditions with less than .10 MPH wind in any direction, sun must be at precisely 1200 local time over head, driver must have just had lunch and no BM, etc, etc, etc

Otherwise it's NOT STOCK! How many times do these experts on the forum have to tell us so!!!

I will have drag radials on mine in 2 weeks and should see a 10.95 or so I bet. The best part of all this drag racing with my z is when I put my son in my car and he walked over to a hellcat on a Friday night drags and called him out. My son ran 11.16 at 127 hellcat ran 11.19 at 126 on drag radials.

I think that settles it for good, a stock ZL1 beat a modified kitty.

Omg! You're right! And don't forget the "stock" fuel. And we can't have any driver mods either. It's definitely not fair if one driver is smaller, lighter, and can drive that thang!

Thanks for reminding me about the tires! I may not have enough tread for any further comparisons. I guess just disregard any more of my runs until I can get some new shoes. Lol!

ZL1Steve, that must have been a pretty good race to watch, and good on you for passing down the passion to your son. You didn't say how old he is, but too many of my friends' kids don't even care if they get a driver's license or not. Mind boggling to me.

Keep us posted on how your car does with DRs (even if you just PM me). The Gen6 ZL1 obviously has a pretty sophisticated TM system that is taking nice advantage of the stock tires, so curious if that programming can improve if given better than stock right out of the box. I'm betting for sure it can with a custom tune.

It's funny some of you guys act like using drag radials or slicks don't change a car but look at a lot of your drag racing classes like the radial vs the world races and they treat tires just like a power adder i.e. Motor size, nitrous, fuel, etc.... so call it a mod. Call it what you want it ain't stock. I'll give you changing tires from one comparable brand to another with the same size and compound. Fact is you can change rearend ratio with a tire change!

Not sure what all the sarcasm and complaining about. Stock is very straightforward. "As it comes off of the manufacturing line", at least in my book. If you change something, you add a variable. The stock definition is the control. Why all the consternation with that?
