Anyone seen this?
https://store.katechengines.com/high...hoCEgQQAvD_BwE Wonder if they plan on producing one for a normal wet-sump LT4.

https://store.katechengines.com/gen-34-oil-pump-p5.aspx I asked them about making one for our LT4 pump issue and they said they're working on it but need to understand the root cause for the failure first. |

Let's put it this way: unless your catch it immediately, you are never assured there isn't top end damage. My wife runs a private shop and is incredibly knowledgable and capable. She told me her AT COST best quote for us to do LT4 crate swap was $25k

Over $10k in labor to swap a long block? Even at $150/hr, that's 66 hours... And the crate engine includes the supercharger and many other components that would not be necessary for replacing an engine due to oil pump failure. Not saying it wouldn't be expensive, but $25k sounds ludicrous... |

Is there a general mileage range as to when they tend to fail? I have a 2019 ZL1 so I am curious if it's been fixed. I daily drive my car so I put miles on it - about 60 a day or so.

A cam/head job normally requires removal of the engine, disassembly, and reassembly- and that job goes for $2500 labor in many places. Hopefully nobody is paying $25K for a swap - unless provided with two engines. |

I've got 14,000 Miles on mine, with the below Mods, build date 8/2017. So far, so good. I wonder if 0/40 oil has helped?

Received a letter from Chevy customer care that they’ve extended my engine warranty by one year and 17k miles due to the oil pump failure. I opened a case at the recommendation of my service advisor on the premise that there maybe hidden mechanical damage due to the failure. Faith restored.
Car is going back to stock until the full warranty has expired. |

For those of you that are giving me hell about feeling a tad insecure about my recent purchase of a ZL1-
I ran into a fellow ZL1 owner tonight a Lowe's. He was actually letting his 16 year old daughter drive the car (cool dad!) This was the first fellow owner I have talked to since getting mine a little over a week ago. I just asked him how he like his car. He loves it, but he said his oil pump had failed (under 8K miles) and had already been replaced. So, with that being said, my guess is there are way more failures then we assume by just looking at a poll on the forum. Luckily for me, mine is a toy and not my primary transportation. Knowing about this issue now, there is no way I'd take my car on any kind of trip out of town and risk being stranded and ruining my trip. That really limits the usage I have of this car now to basically cruising around town, going to local car shows, and wiping it down in the garage. Perhaps the oil pump failure is the reason I see so many used, extremely low mile ZL1's for sale? |

Looks like the pumps go on low miles, under 15k but I might be wrong.
