Does anyone know this building?
A coworker of mine just stopped by and asked me if I knew what this building was, I don't have the picture but just sketched up a quick image of what it looked like. It kind of looked like a large tent/pavilion. Does anyone know what or where it might be?

nope, I know that one. This one seems like some type of pavilion or something, maybe even made from a canvas material or some sort of fiberglass

Might be a tent from Cirque Du Soleil. That would be my guess.
They are actually in Pittsburgh right now too. A great show at that. |

Yea I thought cirque d' soleil as well but apparently this is a fixed structure some place, likely outside of the US. In the picture there are some benches and landscape lighting and such like it is in a park somewhere.

Could it possible be #27 here? http://www.instantshift.com/2009/02/...-architecture/
or possibly this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoyogi_National_Gymnasium (I'm thinking this is it). If that's not it, it's likely built in a similar way so look up tensioned fabric architecture, stressed roof architecture, or suspension roof architecture. |

nope neither of those, cool website though. I think you are right about it being tensioned fabric architecture. My quick sketch is actually pretty accurate to what he showed me and I haven't found anything that looked like that yet
