Convertible 2LT new system install

So I am starting phase 1 of my audio upgrades. I am scheduled for install on Friday. I will post pics when done. Phase 1 includes the following:

Audio Control LC7i
Alpine PDX-V9 (wired for sub channel only for now)
JL Audio 10W3V3-4

For now the sub is going in a truck box. It is a slanted ported box and they are going to mod it with some feet on the slant so that we can set it to be down firing. This is just because I was nervous about having it fire up at the top when it is down. This box sits right under the top when it is down with about 2 inches of space between.

Phase 2 will be to replace all of the speakers and have the Alpine wired to the new speakers. I am looking for phase 2 in Feb. or so. But for now this should at least get me some better base.

I'm looking at doing the exact same thing, I was torn between under the top, or under the seats. I'm worried any adjustments to stock will be lost because of the top

Keep us posted!

I was looking at the back seat as well but then gave up on it. It would have been just too expensive to do the custom work. My hope is that someone will come out with a stealth box soon then I can simply replace the box I am getting with that when available.

My shop seems to be expensive for custom boxes as they quoted me $1000 to get a stealth box custom built. I showed them the thread on here and they said it would take them at least a week just to build the box.

So I went with this for now to remain cost effective. Though I hope the JL sub will be good. I doubt it will be as good as my Alpine Type R that I pulled out of the old Camaro. It's just sitting waiting for a better box.

So the install was done. Sorry for taking a week to get the pics up but it has been raining here and this was the first bit of free time I have had all week to get some pics. No pics yet with the top down but I will get those as soon as I can.

As you can see they did a nice clean job on the wiring. I am still having an issue with inconsistent bass though as it will sound really good sometimes but then be non-existent others. Especially with Spotify and Android Auto. One day I will listen to a song and there will be no bass then the next day I listen to the same song and the bass is really good.

I plan to take it to them today or tomorrow to see if they can figure it out.

Anybody have any updates on adding Subwoofer and or audio upgrades to a 2LT RS?

Warsteiner, any news on fixing the loss of bass?

Just got my 2LT RS Convertable and dislike the Bose audio sound so much, love the car but the audio is worse than my 2012 coupe after adding Steves Sub.
Thanks
Christopher

There were a few issues. 1 they had to rewire parts of it since they said the wires had come a bit loose. Also they tied the sub off the rear channels. It looks like the rear channel is not giving a full bass range signal. There are definitely some frequencies missing on those channels. It is sounding much better now. I have been tuning it myself to get it to where I like it. The audio shop here keeps tuning it to rap which I do not listen to a lot of. I am tuning it to rock which is what I listen to a lot of.
