I'm in Dallas, but have lots of friends down in Houston. They initially thought they were going to be okay, but their neighborhood just got the evacuation yesterday.

He's paranoid his cars are going to be underwater in a day or two.

How's your car?

I'm flooded in and can't get out, but don't have to worry about water getting in the house. We still have power for now.

I am from the DFW area so we are good, but being in the Texas Army National Guard I am currently sitting in our armory in San Marcos getting ready to SP for Houston. Just waiting on word to roll out, might be heading to Beaumont area.

We are OK. Have had power and water this whole time. Last night I was concerned we may need to leave, so we set alarms throughout the night to check water levels. However, rain had slowed and by morning it began to recede. I think we will be OK!

This storm has been devastating. I can't even imagine losing my home or even worse loved ones.

This is why there needs to be some type of ''barrier'' developed to aid in flood prevention.

Hard to plan for events like this. This has never happened before.

My HOA emailed me saying this might be a 1000 year flood. Rained as much in 2 days as it did for all of Allison. I don't know if any amount of planning could prevent this.
