Allocated order VS non-allocated delivery times

I placed an order for a 2018 ZL1 on 7/31 with a dealer who said they had an allocation. I've been checking the status, but as of 8/10 I'm still at 1100.

I've seen folks get to 2000-3000 status within a week or so if there's an allocation.

I was wondering if it's normal/possible to wait 2-3 weeks to get to 3000 status with an allocation? Or did I get scammed?

I placed my order on 5/9/17 and its still at 1100. I also called chevrolet to ask how come my order is still at 1100 if the dealer was allocated two cars. Chevrolet asked me the same question, how come your order is still at 1100. The dealers will get a number of allocations but don't know when the order will be accepted, this is my current issue. I was told it could take up to 8 months to get the car. I'd call other dealers and see if they can place an order for you. These next 6 weeks are dedicated to ZL1 1LE's. I was told 150 units are planned to be built.

Unfortunately all the other dealers around me didn't have allocations. I also have a deposit down on the car. You're positive the next 6 weeks/build cycles are all dedicated to 1LEs? Is there a build cycle calendar somewhere?

This is not a gm problem. The dealer decides who to match with his allocations. He obviously has not matched you with any of his slots. You must ask HIM why, no one else. They could be making 3000 cars and unless the dealer matches you, you still will be waiting....

Read every post in this great thread explaining what is happening:

I know the frustration. Placed my order on 7/4 at one of the larger volume Chevy dealerships in Salt Lake City and still I'm still at 1100...

Yeah, it is frustrating. Especially since I was under the impression that if you had an allocation the order would most likely be completed within 8-9 weeks.

The next six weeks are not dedicated ZL1 1LE ordering cycles..... this current ordering cycle is..... they may be producing 150 ZL1 1LE's over the next six weeks though..... but only for accepted orders.....

Good luck to all the ZL1 1LE orders hopefully being accepted by Tuesday!

so is what you are saying is that if your order is not accepted past 1100 status by Tuesday it wont be accepted at earliest until the next cycle which is 6 weeks away?

The question to the general mgr is:

'How many allocations do you have, and how many customer orders do you currently have, and where would my order fall in that line?"

This could be the case..... do what Glen e said, ask the sales manager if they have any allocations..... if they have an allocation for this ordering cycle, they would already know....... if it is for a future ordering cycle, they may not know which one....

This is getting so old, most dealers will not have a ZL1 1LE to sell but still take your money, and out and out BS there costomers, ask to see if and when they have an order to put in, if they tell you they cant, run do not walk out, they can't put in an order and you will end up upset, it's not GM falt, ALL dealers know if there going to get the car and how many, and as time to place that order gets closer they know that date too.

P.S. with the right dealer car can take as little 4-6 weeks to get or as long as 10-12 weeks.

It took me forever to get an allocation for the ZL1 1LE.

Had to make phonecalls and reach out to friends who may have had connections.

I got very, very lucky.
