Now a large part of the active 1LE community is unhappy with things as evidenced by this thread.

For starters, if you don't want ZL1 1LE info in here, rename this section to "6th gen Camaro SS 1LE/LT 1LE". The LT 1LE guys do post in here...

And please stop moving 1LE specific threads.

As mentioned, I would be more than happy to help!
I'm not sure why eLSD or PTM would have moved other than these are ZL1 items too and could be discussed by both camps in a track section if that's what the subject was about. Post a link and we'll re-evaluate moving it back. Mistakes do happen.

I have no issue with ZL1-1LE being in here and should probably be the place for it right now, but you just referenced the LT guys not posting here which is exactly what I referenced earlier. Just looking for ideas

Vbulletin is notorious for horrible search. However, I do find going Advanced and word searching Titles Only works pretty well sometimes.

At this point I am not going to search threads to move back, just hope it won't happen too often.

I actually said the LT 1LE guys do post in here. It is just not all that often as most 1LE's sold seem to be SS's.

If you want ZL1 1LE stuff to be here too, which makes sense, the section should be renamed to reflect that as well. ZL1 1LE owners will not get the track info and data they may want out of the ZL1 section. But, they will get that here as lots of 1LE owners track their cars...maybe even put a small redirect in the ZL1 section that shows that the ZL1 1LE stuff would be here?

With the section being renamed better, like "6th gen Camaro 1LE (LT, SS & ZL1)"

Maybe the true answer is ZL1-1LE's for everyone!

Threads related to tire wear (like the one that was just moved) I can understand being in the regular section, especially because it was a thread about a non-oem G3 tire. Yet there are threads that havent been moved that are even less about the 1LE which confuse me, like the dark tails thread. Why has that stayed, but the 1LE track pad thread wasnt? Let's at least be consistent with our moves!
While I agree with a lot in this thread, this is the second time I've seen someone mention in this thread leaving track pad talk in this sub-forum and I just think this is a poor example. The 1LE brakes are the exact same mechanically as the 6-piston option on the regular SS so any track pad discussion does have info that might be important for a much wider audience. I actually think a better sub for that would be the brake or track day sections than here.

+1...for example leaking eLSD impacts us and ZL1 only.

The 1LE 6 pistons are stock OEM on the Z06 (base with metal rotors), 1LE and ZL1 only. I suspect that a very select few buck up the $5k or so for the GM Performance 6 pistons, which I agree, are identical...

You'd be surprised. A lot of people have the 6 piston setup on their non-1LE SS.

EDIT: Not trying to argue, just pointing out that this is not a "1LE only" example but I've heard it twice in this thread as an example.

Not even sure how to respond to this, but I'll try. ZL1 track related posts which are all about track and not specific to the car are moved to the Track section so no they might not find all that there. The road track section would be completely dead if we didn't do this and for over two years folks lobbied to get that sub-forum created. You make it sound like if you don't have 1LE attached to your car it's not a track car. I would expect to see a lot more threads in the road track section from both SS and ZL1 guys.

Pretty much the way most of this goes. Yes, it could be left here but then there is a wider audience to consider. Not really a "right" answer, but we will definitely try to do what's best and listening.

Looks like I missed some of the movement.

I think a sticky on the top of this forum with the rules of what BELONGS her and what DOESN'T BELONG here (and where) would be best. I assume this thread has turned into fleshing that out.

But to me (off the top of my head)...

eLSD/PTM = here and allow x-post to ZL1 forum if need be

Brakes = not here, brake forum only as the 6 piston/4 piston is an option on many other SS models

Wheels and tires = wheel and tire subforum unless it's specifically about G3s or the 1LE OEM wheels (ie all sizing/rubbing/etc goes to a wider audience as many upgrade)

Engine/trans = to the respective forums (and we should have a supercharged LT4 engine forum - why don't we?)

appearance stuff = appearance forum unless it's specifically about OEM-done items (ie the wrap or the flat black items/spoiler)

"i just bought my 1le" thread - cool, and welcome - but put that in the intro forum as it's really useless here.

Why move anything? If it originates here, 1LE'rs are discussing it because they originated it...just my 2 cents.

I'm also a longtime member of the Corvette Forum. I can count the times I've seen threads moved on one hand over there, and most were due to totally irrelevant subject matter being introduced in a section or thread. Almost stuff like a guy asking where's the bathroom? (not an exageration).

I actually didn't even know they were an option, learn something new every day.

While I agree some threads need to be moved, if we did it this way the 1LE forum would have very little activity since basically every new thread would be moved to some other sub forum.
I was following some of the threads that got moved and all of a sudden couldn't find them, quite aggravating.

IMO there should be a combination of these two approaches. Threads that are obviously general topic or very applicable to all SS or Camaro owners can be moved, but anything remotely 1LE based should stay as we have a very active group of 1LE owners who frequent this sub. Other non-1LE owners can come read the threads here if they are so inclined.

Thanks mods for listening!

I agree. Some mods (not naming names) just seem to like to move stuff, in 99% of the cases, just leave it alone...

I couldn't belive it when I logged on after two days and saw that like TEN threads were moved, I mean really? I think maybe one actually didn't belong.

It was never like this until this week...not to be "that guy", and this isn't a threat, as I like this place, but if it keeps up I won't post here anymore. And I know for a fact (as I've spoken to multiple members today) that I am not alone in this thinking.

Mods, please listen to us.

Thanks!
