And this is why this forum is one of the best I have ever been a part of.

So much knowledge and no one is stingy about it.

I learn something everyday from reading this.

Thanks, all.

Update: Decided to install the DBA rotors before my track event tomorrow. I've used the OEM rotors for about 6 events and figured it would be better if I just keep them for the future or as a spare.

I also replaced the pads with a bit more aggressive compound (ST47 F / ST45 R)

Will report back

Yes, I initially test fitted at the beginning of this thread, and installed them yesterday and will be using them for the first time tomorrow.

Besides the increased performance/ weight etc. Those are some pretty looking rotors. What are you guys doing when bouncing back and forth between street pads assuming OEM and track pads being different brands and compounds. How are you cleaning the surface of the rotor? Im assuming you arent running ST47s on the street.

I used ST43s on the street and track with my previous cars and have been using the ST43s on the 1LE since day one, no issues here. I am not worried about the residue as it goes away pretty quickly at the track ST43s didn't bother me on the street and ST47s are the same. I might switch back to OEM pads for winter but I am not too worried as they are not harsh on rotors.

Since this is a brake thread I thought I would ask for myself and others that might look here two questions:

1. What is the amount of brake fluid needed to replace/flush the brake system in our 1LE? Specifically, if your are taking out all the OEM delivered fluid for say Motul?

2. If you are using a Motive bleeder, is adapter 1118 the one your using?

Thank you.

You can flush with 1L. Can't comment on Motive as I use a vacuum bleeder.

I used about two bottles for the flush and have been using 1 bottle (.5lt) for every time I bleed the system.

The adapter part number is 1108 which I got from Amazon

some track data from the last event:

I placed some caliper temp stickers and noticed that they reached 430F degree after the event. I will place some stickers in a better place (facing to the wheels right above the pistons) for more accurate reading next time.

And here's how the thermal paint on rotors look like:

according to this guide the rotors temp reached somewhere between the yellow and white colors which means at around 570-580 C degree (about 1050F). As I mentioned before, this track is very abusive on the brakes and I will find a way to feed some air into the knuckle/rotors area to keep the temps in check

I didn't notice any fade issues and ST47/ST45 combo seems to be working just fine. The initial bite and modulation a bit different than the ST43s though

Holy heat, Batman!

My personal best was 800F on a rotor.

Impressive!
