Well water
I have well water with high iron so I've yet to clean my car at home. Should I be ok you think to clean with it or are there products to help break down the iron to hand wash my car? Or should I continue to go to car wash and hand wash there?

I wash mine using hard well water, but I do have a system similar to the one human29 posted above. It'll alright as long as you dry it immediately after you're done, but I do recommend a filter.

My well water goes through a 40 and 20 micron filter. For washing the car I use the CR spotless de-ionizer posted. Best thing I ever bought for washing at home. When I wash my truck I leave the water to evaporate. I have no water spots at all. I'm still using blown air and towels on the Camaro but I never have to hurry to beat the water spots.

My high iron washes were done by making sure the water never dries on the car during the wash. I would continually rise the whole car. Then as soon as I was done I would dry it.
I think a detailing spray after wash, when drying may help as well. I never tried. I am in the process of routing the garage faucet to the softener line. |
