Amp wiring

Hey guys I'm wiring up an amp and sub and saw this when I got to the battery. Anybody know if I can buy a wire end plug in for that 60amp spot? I've called 2 different chevy dealers and they act like I have 2 heads.

Most of us tap into one of the others on the other side. Just make sure you put a inline fuse 18" away that your amp manufacturer recommends.

Thank you for the reply I will do that. Does anyone by chance know where the factory amp is in a 1LE? saw somewhere that it was on the passenger wheel well but I cant find it for the life of me

Nobody has actually shown pictures if it has one or where it is. (would love to be proven wrong on this one!)

If it doesnt have one, my only option is to wire to the back of the head unit, correct?

That would be the case. Follow the wiring and it'll lead to either the mythical amplifier or right to the head unit.

I can't actually help until I get my car back from the body shop.

Im gonna check this out here in a couple hours to see if they're correct on this. If i keep reading threads soon enough I'll have the whole car apart. This one seems plausible though.
I'll make sure to reply back and keep y'all posted. Thanks for the input this far

Had to do some hunting but found this thread talking about it. It's in the rear passenger side interior panel

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=484279

Also, there's no "headunit" with myLink. There are multiple modules being controlled by the HMI, which is not the actual screen you interact with. Just and FYI.

Yea I was just re-looking at that thread, as well as the "no speakers in the rear deck" thread. Lots of rumination but no concrete answers.

Yes, the 6th gen Camaro appears to normally have a display unit (e.g. #84015998), receiver (e.g. #13506386), and amplifier (e.g. #23394114) all for non-bose non-sound-enhancer systems, which is what we were surmising the 1LE should have, yet the amp simply isn't there.

Yea there's no telling. With the LT, 1SS, and 2SS/2LT all having different amp setups...now possibly the 1LE...someone wasted a lot of money in development costs.

I wish the parts websites would update their part number listings to include the 2017 Camaro, that would answer a bunch of questions.

Does the 1LS or 1LT have no amp either? That might be what the 1LE is.

Can't remember but think the 1LT has an amp in the same location as the 1SS...just different amps. Not seen anyone talk about the 1LS but sure it's the same as the 1LT.

Just FYI, the only difference between 1LS and 1LT is the transmission. 1LS = manual trans and 1LT = 8AT. Why GM decided to confuse everyone with a whole trim level just for trans but that's GM for you.

To all who helped, thanks. After going to chevy and looking with the parts department at schematics, there is no amp in the 1LE anywhere. I ended up taking the plastic interior panels off of both sides and can confirm there is no amp at all, so i just tapped into the speaker wires there and ran those through the back to my amplifier and sub. I guess we really have the lowest of the low in Camaro sound systems
