Setup for a Newbie Detailer.

Everyone,

Do you have any recommendations for a basic washing/cleaning/detailing kit for a starter. I just want to keep my paint/wheels in good shape, but I don't want to drop my life savings into it like it seems some of you all do

BTW Not knocking anyone for spending that much time/money, obviously you're doing it right I just can't put that much into it.
Hoping to stay under $100 here!

Thanks in advance!
Jesse

Read my links in my sig, Not only what to buy, but how to do it. And you can get away for very cheap if that's your desire. They're all numbered, read them in order, there about 3 years old and are on about 10 car sites now…...

Your methods seem great and i will definitely follow them to some extent, they do seem extremely in depth (like i was saying in my original post haha) but they obviously work great! Is there anything online where I could buy at least most of the things needed for this as a kit or package of any sort?

Thanks again!
Jesse

Here is an essential starter kit of quality towels for $30. It's a great deal.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I found a good(or what looks good) Chemical Guys kit that has all the basics in it so i went ahead and pulled the trigger on that and I'm going to use some of Glens methods of washing, we'll see how it goes when i get the kit!

While we are on the newbie detailing subject... I'm on the market for a polisher. Any of you experienced guys care to share your opinion?

From my research and budget (<$200), the choices come down to:
PC 7424
Griots 6"
Torq 10fx (my current choice)

The main reason I'm favoring the Torq10fx is because it seems most ergonomic and there is a CG package for $230 which includes pads, polish, etc.
