I don't have any data. Like Fraxum I got the MSD really early on when it was the only option (also the reason I have the CAI CAI). I got a really good deal on it as well. My car pulls strong up top but I did not notice any considerable loss of tq below the curve. In fact when I race people its my power under the curve that lets me pull away. I launch the car at about 2500 RPM with my Mickey et s/s and ran a 7.9 with a 1.8 60ft on a lightly prepped surface in 1000 DA. I have thought about switching over to your ported IM as mine is still sitting in the garage collecting dust and spiders but I just don't see where I could have lost almost 40 rwtq in some places.

Two identically modded cars except the MSD vs. my ported stuff.

Same car, same day 20 minutes apart. My ported IM/TB vs. my ported MSD IM/TB.

You are in it to win it now brother. I would just have your MSD ported at this point. The MSD needs the TB ported as well for velocity and overall air flow capability.

The MSD is a monster on the LS7's. Not so much on stock heads/cam LT1's. PRAY is speaking truth.

You just spoke truth. My last three LS7 H/C cars all put down over 630rw N/A with my ported MSD, ported factory heads, and my custom cam. It is a beast on the LS7.

Also was haveing issues with the converter unlocking in 3rd. the intake picked mine up 25 hp. we are aiming for sub 10.5.... results will be posted

What's the rest of the combo? I am guessing 1SS, 4K stall, drag pack etc. Race weight? How much tq did you lose going to the MSD down low on your combo? What was the DA of your first passes? I would figure you would see more than 25rw with a ported MSD over stock on your combo. Sounds like a fairly large cam to spin to 7,500 in a 376. I am glad to see your short block is keeping up at those speeds. I gained 17/16rw with my ported stock IM/TB over stock and another 3-4rw peak with the ported MSD. You are just tapped out around 300cfm with the stocker no matter how you port it. A MSD will be a must at a certain point regardless of the tq loss down low. But I guess that is what they make big converters for. Can you post up your stock IM to the MSD dyno graphs. I am really curious to see what kind of power past peak and where you peaked with both manifolds is. That will tell the story. Keep at it man and report back. I am very interested.

After seeing what I've on dynos and such... Even with the head/cam setup I plan to run, I'll probably do everything as far as mods before I drop cash to get the MSD IM and port it. Likely will use ported stock one and ported stock TB for a while.
The car will be mainly road course use (and a 6MT), so I was as much under the curve as possible and to keep my tq in the mid-range as long as I can. What will be interesting to see will be any interesting results of the air velocity the heads/cam package will create... I'll be running an experimental setup with a GEN5 5.3L head that will be ported and have valves. SPS Cylinder heads will be doing the work and using my heads as the guinea pig to get the right mix of velocity and flow so I can make good peak power but have a nice fat powerband.
