Yeah they are, I already got one of the two free ones done already, and at a different dealer from where I bought it.

Also, on my online GM account I see there's one more free one remaining in there in my maintenance record.

The service is detailed here:

http://www.chevrolet.com/certified-s...e-system.html#

http://www.chevrolet.com/complete-care.html

Your schedule maintenance for the frist 2 years/24,000 miles are covered, when you go into the details of the maintenance plan that's 2 oil changes. If you log into your "mychevrolet" account (you can register for one with your VIN) it will show in there also.

Perhaps he meant the so called "free" service was built into the price of the car.
So, one way or another you paid for them.

Nothing is ever "Free"

I paid 300 to get free oil changes for 5 years. Worth it for me.

hope you have a better experience than the numerous horror stories posted here about it.

My suggestion is to do it yourself. Though, that's my suggestion for anything that requires little effort if the alternative is taking your car to the dealer / shop.

Mine came with 2 Free from Chev and Free for life from the dealer. Also lifetime engine warranty, again from the dealer. "The Catch" is that they want all of your service done with them. If I go to another dealer for an oil chance or service, the deals off.

Take your owners manual and show him in person, or print out the screen shot from your My Chevrolet portal.
