We have a winner. Where did the 16 gallon come from anyway? Searching that on Google only brings up forums

Is it just me or is their metric conversion off by a lot?

Yeah. Should be 71.9 L, not 17.9. Lies! All lies! The Camaro only has a 4.7 gallon tank [sarcasm]

Even a bigger gas tank than Mustang has and still weighs less.

Another lie. The gas station pumps are in on it too. Reads 19 gallons when it only pumps 16.

Give me the 16gal. Saves weight and Im not too fancy to pump 1 more tank of fuel a month. Just more opportunity for people to gawk at my car!

Wait, there are back seats in Camaro's? This will be my 6th Camaro and the only one's I ever had with a back seat were my 1986 Z28 and my '68. I drove a 2010 for 5 years and never knew of any backseat. I think you guys are trying to put one over on me!

GM didn't get weight out of the Camaro. They just made the Camaro smaller in many areas including fuel capacity. No one seems to be recognizing that. They just are happy for the number.

Smaller rear seat

Smaller trunk

Smaller fuel tank

All "trade offs" made to have a smaller car that, ta dahhhhh, weighs less.

But be verrrry clear. I'm not anti-GM and never have been. But I do have very high bar for their products.

Here is why......

Their f&%cking market share continues to drop. It has only gone up once in the last 10 years and that was when Japan had a reactor melt down that shut down a huge chunk of their automobile production.

GM needs GREAT cars that challenge the entire market, not just really good cars that are simply loved by the people that have always bought them.

GM is making huge amounts of money right now. But fewer and fewer people are buying their cars. Trucks continue to save the day. I worked there for 26 years and market share went up 3 times. I still have my pin with "29" on it. That was the line in the sand GM claimed they would not fall below. Today they are just a bit more than half that.

I want them to succeed. I have a pension that depends on it!!!!!! And that doesn't happen with cars that aren't great. Too many awesome competitors out there now.

I understand what you are saying, and I agree to a point. The Camaro needs to be a great car but part of its draw goes beyond the practicality of the car. How many other cars are there that are front engine, rear wheel drive with four seats? Not many. Now throw in a 455 hp V8 and the number gets even smaller. The styling and performance allow some wiggle room when it comes to practicality.

Now, Spark, Cruze, Malibu and Impala are different stories.

I'm never one to run low on gas, but my '17 2SS is also the first vehicle I have ever owned that is a V8 and uses this much gas. I put 17.22 gallons in it yesterday, and the needle was dead on E and all the indicators didn't even have miles to empty, it just said "Low Fuel"

Just FYI.
