So I noticed on cold start up in my garage, after a few seconds (doesn't start right away), I can hear a slight chirp/squeak sound that lasts maybe 30 seconds. I don't recall hearing this at first, but I may have missed it (car only has 650 miles). Could I possibly have a bad belt or noisy pulley already? This can't be some sort of DI related noise? Anybody else notice this sound?

Not me but can you be hearing something related to the DI high pressure fuel system?

Not sure. Like I said, I only hear it on cold start up. Starts after about 3-5 seconds and lasts maybe 30 seconds. It's very slight, but in the garage with the windows down and tunes off I can hear it. I'd hate to make a dealer trip for this...but I will need a rear diff fluid change down the road anyway. So if need be I'll have them look at it then if nobody here can confirm what it may be.

Really reminds me of a pulley/belt chirping noise. Hard to say...

Mine does the exact same thing and sounds just like a pulley as well. Same conditions as well. I was going to hit the pulleys with WD40 but first I was going to stethoscope them and see if it's actually that.

Humm, really? Maybe it is "normal" then. Not a fan of it at all...minor or not.

One time I revved it a little when it started to make the noise and it stopped.

Let me know if you scope them and if it ends up being one which one in particular it was.

My other car is DI too, doesn't make the same chirp like sound on cold start.

I have noticed the same on my car from day one. Like you said, only on cold start. even if my car sits at work 9 hours it won't do it, but a full overnight cold start it does it. i too think it sounds like a pully or belt, but it happens for such a short timeframe under just these circumstances, i don't know, it must be something else, but what? its minor, yes...but i would like to fix it if i can without a trip to my dealership.

let us know what you find with the scope. i think you should scope in other areas too, as it may not be a pully. i would love to track this down. my wife can barely even hear it, but i notice it for sure. seems to last 20-40 seconds then it kinda goes away

When mine does it, it is very low, and only on a full on cold start, after 30 seconds or so, it stops....so nobody really hears it but me. But, I still want to track it down. If it is a noisy pulley bearing, or whatnot I will swap it out. But, part of me thinks it may be a DI thing as it is so consistent and under only certain conditions. Not to mention slick3 says his does the exact same thing...

Mine sounds almost like a chirp less then 3 second and gone I sprayed some lube on it if it keeps up I might get the pulleys and belt checked in the spring. My Z just needed belt adjustments and it would be good for a year then come back by the time I took it back out of storage.

Yours only on cold start, or any time you start it? Or?

only on cold starts it's happened twice I only have 2500kms on mine.
