Have you looked into the newer Volvo wagons? The V60 cross country looks nice, and would probably be great in the winter too

I live in Wisconsin and we have snow here. Did I mention SNOW lol. I have a Chevy Cruze. This is my second one. The first one was in a horrible accident with my son driving. The car saved his life. I did not hesitate to buy another. FANTASTIC in snow with stock tires. Absolutely fantastic. You could easily get one for that price.

Compromise and buy the best vehicle I have ever owned (and regret selling all the time): Toyota FJ Cruiser. I lived in Idaho and it was a monster in the snow with locking center and A trac. I would rather have a 75k mile FJ than a brand new subaru......

The FJ is a great vehicle but I already have a Land Rover LR4 with center and rear lockers. It's a tank and one of the best off roaders I have ever had. I'm looking for a car at this time.

Acura TL sh-awd, manual. Some of the earliest years are towards your price range. Quick, reliable, pretty decent AWD system.
The RL sh-awd is bigger but you love the manual. |

Yeah.. I dont see ATS 2.0T, Jaguar or FCA anything as reliable. Good cars, just reliability not a strength of theirs.
