Installed the Vittesse Throttle Controller and hid the wires, to make it look part of the car.

I am a bit uncomfortable having a dealer do oil changes. Despite it being a very simple job, there seems to be many screw-ups reported with either under-fills/over-fills or problems putting the cars on a lift.

Took it for a drive, tested out that no-lift-shift. Damn that was fun! Until I got home and noticed an f'n stone chip in it...

I am also hesitant but I have a guy. He is the only person besides JDP who's ever touched my car. He even did the PDI when it came off the truck. Having service history with a dealer can be a powerful thing should I ever encounter any issues down the road.

What does the throttle controller help with exactly? How does it work.. I have an A8 also.

"They" are virtually anyone that gets in your car...ive had numerous ppl ask me why I put it in, including my 15yo daughter. Dealer will definitely know...

You would be right about that but it seems after watching a newer install video that it would not be very hard to remove it before going in for service ect. Either way i wouldn't give the dealer a way to try to void my warranty for anything.
