Hi guys, just bought my 2017 2ss with sunroof, and quickly noticed that express close, as stated in the manual doesn't work. I stopped by a local dealer, the service guys agreed that based on the manual, it should work. I am supposed to leave my new ride with them on Wednesday to check it out- has anyone called Chevrolet, or tried a dealer? I don't want to waste my time, but this seems like something that could be fixed with a calibration. Thoughts?

Let me know how it goes with the dealer.
This is something I noticed the first day of ownership, but I didn't bother to go to the dealership.
My guess is that it's a screw-up from GM's side but who knows.
Kudos to you for trying.

It's in the setting, memory seat auto recall.

Now I do have an issue with the passive unlock setting as well, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this supposed to unlock the car when you walk up to it since the passive lock auto-locks while walking away?

I have a 2SS 50th with sunroof. I went through all of this with the dealer. According to GM it is not supposed to auto close.

The 2017 manual clearly changed from the 2016 manual adding the auto close feature. Despite that the button to close the sunroof is a tow position (or tow click) switch it does NOT auto close.

The argument about litigation is BS. My wife's 2015 equinox has auto close!!!

So, completed my visit to the dealer today- the official answer is : "vehicle does not have or offer auto close"
Well, sounds to me like the manual info is either an error or representative of an assembly line code change that hasn't happened yet. I am not aware of any sunroof options beyond a 2SS with sunroof, so if my car doesn't have it- I have no idea how to get it. Would be nice and seems like the hardware is capable. Oh well, one thing for my wife to chide me on compared to her Infiniti-

Until someone official from GM actually acknowledges this and admits the manual is incorrectly printed AND explains exactly why the Camaro can't do it while other even older models can, this case is not closed. Unfortunately big corporations don't often respond to the complaints of a few without publicly embarrassing themselves in front of the many.

I'm calling laziness on this one. I'm sure it can auto-close as it's a simple feature but engineering didn't get the programming update included in the final software release because someone couldn't get it approved in time or it wasn't worth the hassle and unfortunately the copy editor for the manual wasn't told the option was canned and it left the print shop saying something it shouldn't.

Agreed. I think this is purely a software issue. We all know the switch is made for this.

To chime in on this thread, I thought that my 2LT sunroof auto-close was broken as well. I am currently sitting in the dealership getting the oil changed, and a few minutes ago I asked the sales rep to look at a 2018 2SS with a sunroof to test it. The auto-close button does nothing just like the 2016's and 2017's.
