As long as i change it in the sound management settings to stealth, it stays closed at all times, even cold starts. I've confirmed that they are closed because weeks back i got curious and looked at the exhaust as my wife started it up.

That's weird. If I turn my car off in Stealth Mode, it starts in the morning with the valves closed.

Great request, bybcous.

A couple concerns: Part of the loud start up is the pre-dump of fuel into the chamber when the starter cranks to get it into the exhaust and warm up the catalytics faster -- which also causes the smoke-off after startup. Initial turn over also jumps to 1500rpm, then drops to 1000rpm for 30-60 secs and finally idle at 550-600rpm.

Will just closing the valves provide the quiet startup the OP is asking for? If so, count me in. But I would really like to see/hear the difference of two cars side-by-side. The idea of not waking my neighbors when I go out at night is very appealing.

Watch his video on the Wild2Mild module, especially at the end where you can start the car in stealth mode. Its the same module for the Corvette and Camaro with NPP exhaust....installed mine last week and its perfect with very easy installation (RPI shows a how too video on a Gen6 Camaro). You can even program two of your Homelink buttons (unless you are already using them) to open or close the flaps instead of using the provided remotes. A note for those that have done the fuse pull to keep the exhaust always open....the first time I returned the exhaust to stealth (after months of running only in open mode), there was a lot of water from the drain holes which surprised me. I know to expect alittle water at first startup, but this was more than I ever saw before. After thinking about this, all I can surmise is that since the inner exhaust tips (that only open in stealth) were never opening, condensation was accumulating and was not allowed to drain. Just something to think about and check for those that are going to maintain the fuse pull.

I use the mild to wild control for the C7 Vette. Works perfectly with the 6gen Camaro with npp. Nice for 4am cold starts lol. I start the car by hitting the ignition switch without pressing the brake pedal. Once the powers on in the car use the mild to wild switch to close the valves. Then start your car. Works for me with nice quiet starts.

Tim,

Would your pieces have the option of enabling closed valves or normal mode during start up prior to ignition start?

Example, say I have to leave at 4am but did not plan on it. I would want the car to start with valves closed. But due to my type of work I may not have known I have to leave unexpectedly at 4am the next morning.

Now any other time I actually like the flare up at start, it sounds nice and mean. Basically I wouldn't want it to be quiet all of the time on startup but I also wouldn't want to have to set it with the ignition on prior to parking the car. I guess it would be Normal mode and quiet mode and setting it with the ignition off would require 12v hot all of the time but may drain on the battery.

That actuators should close before the engine actually starts. I would have to test one of the actuators on my car to get response time.

Making it user selectable would require the addition of a signal wire to each module. I could easily provide the functional provision but I would rather not have to worry about the installation/placement of such a switch. I'd leave that to the end user to figure out.

Here is a video of my car during cold start in Ice/Snow mode (stealth mode) vs Sport mode on different mornings. Without starting the car, holding the push start button for 5 seconds will take you into 'accessory mode', so you can start up in any mode. Only mods, rotofab cai and 2nd cat delete borla xpipe to stock NPP muffler. Starting up in stealth mode definitely makes a difference during cold start.

Ice/Snow Mode (valves closed): https://youtu.be/txXMU9SUDkM

Yeah I am very confused. So far I am seeing conflicting info in this thread. The only reason I want to order NPP is stealth starts. Some people are saying thier valves are closed, others say they are starting up open. Hmmm

I just started my car in stealth mode at cold start, first time in a long time, it actually is pretty tame and not loud at all. I made a mistake. It used to bark awake.

Lmao Homey., the AVERAGE loud exhaust Ss with a basic muffler setup would be fine in tour mode During start up.
YOURZ ON THE OTHER HAND WOULD BE LOUD IF IT STARTED WITH PILLOWS IN THE TAILPIPES. GOOD LUCK
