Correct on it being 37 State Legal.
Upstates dealer claimed it was a aftermarket Intake after the tune didn't work due to the calibration error against where the vehicle was registered.

OK, so if he wants it tuned he will have to have somebody other than GM do it?

Correct. He cannot go out of state to have it done by another GM dealer either since his car is registered in a CARB state.

I think I had a leak with the sound tube I was double checking all my connections and I heard it click more once I tried and the car seems to be running better or it just got used to the CAI. I have to clear the engine code to see if it comes back up.

However GM will NOT install the tune if you're in a CARB state or your car is registered in a CARB state so in Oregon I cannot get the tune. If I can run the CAI without a CEL I'll probably keep it but That GM guy said I could get a refund if I wish.

So is the problem that the CAR wouldn't accept or run with the tune because of the emissions equipped? Or is it because of the location (state) and the system wouldn't allow the calibration to be loaded?

The way I interpret the Oregon DEQ website is that they only do vehicle testing around Portland, and Medford, quote from the website:

I wonder if I can get the tune installed at the dealer here when the 2.0 intake comes out? Technically I live outside of the VIP boundry and do not have to smog test my vehicles.

Just an FYI i reset the code for the CEL and it came back. Tune will probably be required. Sledge hammer 70 had a guy install the GM intake in California I'm curious if he gets the CEL too.

Anyone able to get free shipping on the intake ? Also when I asked my dealer they said they couldn't get it yet. How is it some dealers can get it gmpartsguy can get it but some dealers can't.
