Its tricky launching with a manual car and sticky tires. With the flex fuel sensor you can run regular gas as well, as it monitors the alcohol content and changes timing accordingly.
So you have had no issues with your stock axles launching on those sticky tires?

Awesome time and M6 60'! Way to represent the M6. Best bolton time yet for an M6. What tires are you running? I also wonder about the axles with hooking that good. But maybe it is a higher RPM where we get into trouble.

I agree, an aggressive low RPM start got me to some low 1.9s on the runflats. But I am slower on NT555Rs. They are taller than the run flats. I need to get as good as you at this. I think I worry too much about my RT. It is embarassing when the announcer makes fun of you. LOL

Hey, 1LE guy. Are the 1LE axles any stronger than the ones the non 1LE SSes?

I think just as long as you get a rotation or two out of the tire than you're fine...if it dead hooks that's probably trouble lol

Thanks!! I'm running the 305/45/17 MT ET Street Rs...usually I do around a 1.9-2 60 ft myself. The time before the 11.9 pass I bogged so hard my 60 ft was 3 seconds because the car almost cut off. I got pissed and said I'm just gonna drive this thing I stead of overthinking the launch and that's when I got the 11.9. Even after that I had a pass where I bogged hard again, then on my next pass I got the 11.8. You have to launch perfect in these things and I found the best way for me at least is to do an aggressive street launch on these tires.

Well it seems they changed suppliers for all '17 axles, the SS has new part numbers as well. The SS 1LE has a shorter right side axle due to the eLSD. Not sure if they are any beefier yet, but when it comes to axles, shorter is better.

Not just a tire swap, he had aftermarket (lighter) wheels too. Those Michelin Pilots are no joke, I saw a C7 that was running in the 10s with them.

Still no comparison to a ET Street and that car was otherwise stock, no E85 tune and still had all four cats. Not taking anything away from HyperblueSS, just sayin'.

Well also my track is in florida and the coolest I've seen at the track so far is 60 degrees and 1000+ DA, a lot different from a regular negative DA in Canada...just saying

Actually, the guy from Canada DID race on drag radials, but he was running like 12.4 I think it was. So he had his chances on DRs for sure. Then he said the weather was nice so he went to the track when his aftermarket wheels with Michelin Pilots were on, and happened to run the 11.96 and then break an axle. As far as the no E85 thing, the Canada car ran 116.34mph and the Florida car ran 116.36mph, so the actual power-to-weight ratios of the cars when they raced were obviously the same. Doesn't matter how they got it, better air or better fuel, the cars were comparable as shown by the trap speed.

Went back tonight and ran slightly better on my first pass but couldn't stick the launch the rest of the night. My mph was way up though...I think it being cooler helped out alot, plus my E85 percentage was higher. When I went last time I had a few gallons of 93 mixed in so I wasn't taking full advantage of the extra timing. This time I had more E85 in there and my trap speed was 119. I wasn't launching as hard because on the second run I had some wheel hop and it didn't feel all that great...didn't want to break anything. So after that I launched at a lower rpm.

OSW can have decent DA over the winter. I ran there a lot and have seen 200-400 a few times in December-March. -1000 isn't going to happen unfortunately lol...
