Grinding or rubbing sound when vehicle is cold

I constantly hear a rubbing or grinding sound when turning from the rear of my car only when the car is cold. Cold as in haven't driven it for several hours.

The rubbing grinding happens in hot weather and cold weather.

Anyone else have this issue or know what it is?

A noisy diff is NOT normal. Keep pressing them about it or go to a different/better dealer because they are BS'ing you.

Definitely. I have had the same problem in just about every GM vehicle I've bought over the last several years. It has to do with the fluid they put in for the new build and the break in process. There is an anti-friction additive that needs replaced at about 500 miles or so sometimes sooner.

Like I said, this is not anything new but a dealer that tries to say it is 'Normal' is not worth his franchise.

This is a known issue and is not normal. Let your dealer know that this is happening on a lot of Camaros and that a diff fluid change is required. Have them call GM if necessary. I would probably choose a different dealer as well.

actually the limited slip part has changed since then. I did a thread on me talking directly with GM in regards to this. the correct fluid is actually 88862624 which is combining of the limited slip and the original fluid..

nor·mal
ˈnôrməl/
adjective
adjective: normal
  1. 1.
conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
Being that this seems to be happening to the majority, by definition, doesn't that make the dealers correct when they say its "normal"?

Happens in my car as well, brought it to the dealer, of course by then the car was warm and noise gone. Left it over night, they said they couldnt hear it (bullsh*t) cold the next morning. On my to do list to bring it to another dealer when I get some time.

I actually didn't change mine yet, and I'm at 6000 miles.
Is it recommended to change around 1500?

Mine doesn't make any sound so far. (Knock on wood)
